Hello All!

Hello All!

I have been working on models on and off since I was about 10. Mostly to relax me, but here recently I have been interested in adding some "real" detail to what I build. Everybody always told me that my stuff looked pretty good, but now I want to make them look awesome! What I have looked at on many galleries online has been really great, including this one.

I like to build cars, planes, and Star Trek ships. I will try not to ask too many questions that have been asked before, i.e. I will cruise around and see what has been talked about before that way you don't have to keep repeating yourselves. I hope that I can fit in with all of you expert modelers.Big Smile [:D]

I am from Zanesville, OH. I spent some time in the AF at Loring AFB and spent many weekend evenings up in Grand Falls, NB. Had lots of good times there...or so they tell me! :)

I have built two of the original Enterprises...but they did not survive my many moves. I have the Enterprise A, 2 B's, C, D, and E, the Excelsior, the Klingon Warbird...it is together and needs finished painting...same with the Excelsior. The A and D are finished and the rest are in boxes waiting patiently. I like the Federation ships the best...but have I have looked at other "alien" ships that I like. Right now I am searching ebay for a decent priced Reliant and a Runabout. I have a few that I am watching.

I have several ships in boxes as well, my 'A' fell victum to feline warfare as did my V'orcha class battlecruiser. I have my D over my head as is my romulan warbird. Have a look under the sci-fi forum there is a discussion under way on a march release of a new more detailed 1701/A, might be pricey but heard to be worth it. Was your A the lighted version?

No, I thought that would be pretty cool though... I looked at a lot of ships on www.starshipmodeler.com and thought that would be something to look at doing. The A that I have is the one that was released with the shuttle craft...I can't remember which movie it was from though.

I am lucky that my wife likes the models that I build...even though they are not as detailed as many I have looked at online...she even adds to my addiction when she sees something that I really like. She is not really surprised that I am trying to find the Reliant and the Runabout on ebay...she said she liked the Runabout too...that is a plus! :)

You are truely blessed to have a wife that encourages you in your hobby. Does she build any herself? My wife tho' she shares my passion of ST and likes the models I build, I don't think she really understands the desire. She did try to build a kit with me once but the "bug" eluded herDisapprove [V]

No, my wife doesn't build...she has said that she would like to try it once though. She is the same way with my guns...she encourages my hobbies and admires them, but I haven't been able to totally immerse her in with me. That is eventually part of my "evil plan to take over the world!" :D I did finally get my wife to start watching with me...she does really like "Enterprise", and couldn't wait to see "Nemesis". I am "corrupting" her well! :)

Her assimilation is going well, soon they will all be in our power!

I love the evil wicked fiendishness of your plans ( Janeway "Bride of Chaotica")Evil [}:)]

A version of the Predator ship and the new Romulan Warbirds would be nice.

Go safely

Ahhh Yes, she is sooo unsuspecting! She wants to go out of town for dinner tomorrow and I said that I wanted to stop at a couple of hobby shops on the way up...and she said ok! Cool! I can always use another model and supplies! Big Smile [:D]

Yeah, a version of the Predator ship would most definitely be nice. I do like the Warbird too.

Planning all your trip routes to pass by atleast a couple of shops is a good sound strategy
well done! Sometimes it's almost too easyEvil [}:)]Wink [;)]

The Argus was nice too, if it came with the 4x4 vehicle it would be a bonus.

I suggest we move this discussion over to the sci-fi forum and out of the introduction area there are more trekkers over there as well!

See you there Madd Dawg

Coldwar,
Welcome to the group! We share the 'trekkie' thing in common, but there's a slight difference...

My wifes the trekkie, not me.... (no you can't meet here, either...)
