The Nats are always held in the following order:
Eastern U.S----->Middle U.S.-----> Western U.S----->Eastern, etc.

I might be sorely mistaken, but I think I've heard a few rumors that the 2006 Nats will be in Chicago.

god dang it. When will they ever be close to NY?! I'm going though so I can't complain. NYC would be a great place for the Nats.

IPMS competitions? They are model competitions, with every catagory imaginable! Now I have not been to a big one, but here are supposed to be lots of reatilers who sell models, detail sets reference items. etc. IPMS is a clu around the world.

as for the east middle west thing, Yay! that means in 2007, they will be in the west. Hopefully in CA.

the 2004 NATS was fun. First one I had ever attended. I actually won 2 third place plaques, so that was cool for my first time. I hope to make any further Nationals on the west coast or Chicago..(my Home town)...I live in Tucson AZ

I have heard that Seattle is in the running for 2007. I was there when the nats hit Seattle in 1992. What an operation!! Vendors and manufacturers galore. I am originally from there so that would make a good excuse to go and visit. It was the Seattle 1992 show that AMT/ERTL debuted the 1/72 KC-135!!!!

KCMO, I'll be there. I wish I could be in Atlanta, but it's too far and too expensive.

The location is based on a bidding process by a local club. Getting one close to New York would likely be simply prohibitive in cost, since you need at least 4 days of serious convention hall space. The Buffalo club might have adequate membership to pull it off and may even have adequate ahll space. Most venues in New Engalnd would either be to expenssiveor too small.

Remember, if the women don't find you handsome, they should at least find you handy.

"NYC would be a great place for the Nats"
It was tried a number of years ago, and it proved to be too costly. I'm not sure there are many modelers that can cover a $200.00 per night room cost. Besides, last time it was in NYC, a few of the folks that attended got mugged!!
The 2007 event, which is indeed a West Coast event will be held in Orange County CA. I haven't heard where the venue is yet, so stand by!! I know the guys out there are already hard at work getting things ready, and will make announcements as they go along.

As a member of the IPMS Orange County Chapter, which is hosting the 2007 Nationals, I can tell you that the 2007 Nationals will be held at the Anaheim Marriot Hotel directly across from Disneyland. It is set for the third week in August. I already know several of the things planned for this event and I intend to be as deeply involved in the planning and preparation as I can get!

Hopefully we'll see alot of you there!

Jacob Javitz Center is plenty big enough for the Nats, I think it would be great there. Plus there are many hotels to choose from around NYC with varying price ranges. I know they did try this already (at Jacob Javitz) back in the 1980's I believe. In NY it would have to be a multi-club affair to handle it. IPMS Suffolk, IPMS Levittown, IPMS Brooklyn IPMS Mid-Hudson and even the IPMS metro groups from connecticut and new jersey could pitch in.
