I have a modified Remington 870.  I love that one.  I also have an old Mosin Nagant too.  Even has the bayonet for Zombie encounters. :)

.and the best thing about that Moisin Nagant : surplus ammo is still available, though I don't know if AP or tracer is still around.Hmm

Better check the laws in yer area before using that.............never know......might be illegal to squirt someone without their permission.Hmm

Oh, not too worried about that, lol. I'm absolutely  SURE that I"d be covered under the "Castle Doctrine"! Wink

I can also water the lawn with my firearm under local ordinances.... Stick out tongue

While I initially spoke ( typed ? ) facetiously, I did double check and have come across a couple articles
about cities having either banned owning water guns or banned carrying them outside in public.
.
Long ago I heard the comment: " If ya douse  'em with that Super Soaker, make sure that ya drag 'em inside across yer threshold...."
Not sure if that applies in this case...............Hmm
.
As for watering yer lawn: if ya ever do it on dry, hot days, make sure to do it on whatever day local ordinances say you can do it.Stick out tongue
Best of luck to ya with that deadly Super Soaker, John Mcclane jr.
I know ya won't let go of it until they pry it outa yer cold, wet hands.......Whistling

My wife carries a Taurus Millenium Pro 9mm. It's ok, but has a really long trigger pull. I like a short pull.....don't read too much into that last statement.......

This is a great thread! I carry a full-size Glock 21 .45ACP myself, for the very reason that Green Thumb says he bought a shotgun - knock-down power. Plus, it's really easy to strip & clean after a day at the range. Ammo for that thing is getting a bit pricey, though.........

We had a problem with car burglaries around here lately, and I felt the need to step up and get some home defense as well.  I think that this should adequately convey my intentions should anyone think they're going to steal my monogrammed cup holder...i'm sure there's a chapter on this baby in your book, Mike. I can lay down about a gallon in under half a minute with this big boy, You mes with the bull, you get the horns...

Yes, there is another Wyatt Earp quote up at the range in the same room as well. I do not know it verbatim, but it is something along the the line of "you must learn to be slow in a hurry". IIRC, Wyatt Earp had some sort of association with our department in the early 20th Century after he came to California.

Our range range staff has nice quote up at our main training range. "Speed is fine. Accuracy is final".

Have fun with your new toy Mike.

sweet shotgun m ike. i have a MOSSBURG wannabe which is a good gun if you don't have a lot of money and don't care about impressing others at the range. no offense. my indoor range allows shotguns and has a defensive shotgun class.i just carry a GLOCK 26 or 19 on my hip when home with HORNADY critical defense loads.

that quote is also attributed to wyatt earp.

I agree with that sign Carlos but with 15 projectiles at a time my accuracy rate is improved. lol

Where'd the other 10 go?

My civilian range is outdoors and they don't allow shotguns or rifles with less than a certain length barrel. Plenty of traps to shoot at though.

My Federal Power Shok 3" 00 buck shells arrived yesterday. I was pleased that the Mossberg can hold five in the tube with 3" shells. What a devastating round with 15 .33 cal pellets per shell. Scary that what is in the shotgun can put 65 projectiles down range in a matter of 5 seconds.

No concerns here either. I get along great with the neighbors and my wife and I have been married 30 years and also get along great. I can definitely see your point though GM.

Very true there GM. A simple bit of web searching will put these things together. But I am not one to make threats.

I think it's worth pointing out to you fine gentleman a point.

A friend of mine learned this the hard way.

When you post a thread and show a weapon or two or three, the whole world knows, right?

If your wife files for divorce ( case of my friend),

your neighbor claims you threatened him, etc., their lawyer can and will put together a presentation about your dangerous tendencies.

And unfortunately we are no longer judged by our peers.

The Remington  870s that we have at work have a buffer in the adjustable M4 type buttstock.

STIKPUSHER

Thanks, I was curious if anyone did have the buttstock buffer.

I agree about the pets;  lots better hearing, night vision and smell than a human will ever possess. Big Smile

Spruce, I beleive that my M3 has the buffer in the bolt assembly. I have not torn it down for awhile now as I have not had much time for any shooting trips over the past few years. Not mention the scarcity of ammo in all calibers here still. The stock is just a nice solid piece of resin/plastic with a rubber butt recoil pad. I have a nylon/velcro shell carrier on the stock that I had been using at work until it was no longer needed.

This is my "home security" that I had for my back yard camping while my house was being fumigated this past spring. Benelli & Walther

with dogs and cats for my alarms (hey, their senses of smell, hearing, and night vision is better than mine)

GreenThumb

Thanks for starting an interesting thread

I don't recall seeing this topic posted here since I joined the FSM foums. Big SmileYes

.

Interesting discussion on feeding those shotguns.
Regarding the Benelli M3.: I can only recall seeing the recoil buffer of the M3 contained inside the bolt assembly, yet I was told long ago that the early versions had the buffer in the stock as in the Benelli civilian shotguns.
.
stikpusher
.
Did I understand correctly that your M3 has the buffer in the butt stock?
Out of curiosity, did you add the aftermarket shell carrier to the M3?

mrmike

Hope you feel more secure, but what in the world does this have to do with scale modeling?

Well, there is a downloadable paper model kit of a Pancor Jackhammer............
I sure would like to have tried one of the real shotguns.
.
I realize this doesn't exactly fit into the general gist of the thread, but speaking of modeling: I sure miss the LS brand plastic gun kits that were available prior to the 1980s.
