Spruce: Dunno, but I bet even Ewok would be good if fried... Stick out tongue

At the very least, Fermis could make a fuzzy, warm loin cloth for winter..........Hmm

Lol GAF, I think Karl is talking about the Ewoks (let's corner the Teddy Bear market!) in Return of the Jedi.

Yup, that was what they were. Cute for Saturday morning, but NIMSW!

I am definitely looking forward to it. Going this weekend. In a town of 6,000 people there's not a whole lot of fuss just walking into our theatre. Excellent reviews so far from some of my hardcore friends. And, I personally enjoy the Abram's Star Trek movies. That is all.

I am glad you said that Joe. I was going to ask if i was the only one who liked the new Star Trek movies.

I am definatly looking forwrad to tomorrow. I have just seen Mark Kermode who does the movie reviews on the BBC new channel, and even he likes the new Star Wars, and i was not expecting that.

But for the doom sayers out there.

OK, I'll confess, I like the new Star Trek movies too, and I'm looking forward to the new one out next summer.

Back to Star Wars, a local DJ here in Cincy mentioned one of his friends is a big Star Wars nut. But, he's the kind of guy who will go into a movie and criticize everything. Well, he liked the movie so much, he said it was as good as the Empire Strikes Back.

I'm looking forward to seeing it.

Sorry, Bish!  It's the holiday season.  We're supposed to be old and crotchety!  Wink

But for your benefit, I've heard the movie "doesn't suck", and is about as good as "The Empire Strikes Back".  And it doesn't have "Spitfires" in it.  Not a one!  Big Smile Whistling

Ewoks. *Hurm* I remember hating every moment they were on-screen back in the day. I also remember saying WTF? when Vader said he was Luke's father. IMHO, that's the moment Star Wars jumped the shark.

I skipped episodes 2 and 3. I'll probably see this one in a week or so when the hype dies down. And I didn't like the new Star Trek movie. Never saw the sequel.

I just saw it. It's good, but I dont know about as being as good as Empire Strikes Back, which along with the orignal are my two favorites. More in line with the original trilogy than with the prequel trilogy for certain. And I dont want to give anything away, so I'll leave it at that.

Just saw it last night, and it was well done.  I did enjoy it, but often times felt like I was watching the original.   Hollywood has a trend of remaking past movies, but here ... well don't want to spoil it.  If you've seen the first one, you'll know what I'm saying.

regards,

Jack

Thanks guys, between here and several other websites I frequent everything I've heard has been good to excellent. I think I'm going to have to revise my plans to wait and watch it on DVD and actually make it out to the theater.

in my case my force rolled over and went back to sleep.

i enjoy the fact a lot of folks are getting a lot of pleasure out of the movies and the lead up. it's fun to watch and, as a model builder, certainly can understand folks really getting into something they like.

personally i have numerous other universes i enjoy (Babylon 5, Farscape, the Honorverse, the Lt. Learyverse, Star Trek, Stargate, Firefly/Serenity). i ptobably won't even see this since i haven't seen any since the first 3.
