Patrick and Fermis,

Both of you have some good looking buddies. I have come to the point to where I don't go anywhere without Boomer (except work). Patrick we had a blonde lab for 14 years and she to was a firecracker....never slowed down. Fremis, "Buddy" looks like he was a true and faithful friend. When I'm at the bench I don't think about how lucky we are to have her around...except when she let's out one of her silent but violent calling cards LOL

....not your typical calm lab.

I have never heard "calm" used to describe a Lab!!!

My 1st Lab "Oscar" (only made it a year...he met a car), GREAT dog....but holy hyper!!!

"Junior", posted above, was equally hyper, up until about 5. Even then, he was "excitable", not quite hyper. He didn't slow down until he hit about 15...then, you could see the inevitable swiftly approaching.

Actually, compared to this little whirlwind our past labs were quite calm. Maggie made it to 17, Lucy left us at 15, playful and friendly, but also happy to be nice lady girls. Ellie makes them as compared to statues. But they're all great, aren't they?

Oh man! How could you not love a mug like that?!!!

My bench buddy..."Buddy", aka Budro, aka Junior...is no longer with me (as of Oct 16 2013)...I still feel the emptiness in the room when I'm workin on a model. That dude was by my side everywhere I went, since he was just a pup.....he went to work with me, flying with me, he LOVED to go fishing in the boat, I even had him up in a tree stand, hunting deer, a couple times. He'd even play hide-n-seek....all I had to do was say "hide-n-seek", he'd go straight to a corner and and stick his face in the corner and wait for me to hide. BEST DOG EVER!!! He was special to me and I was the only one that was special to him!

We still have "Dug". He's a "simple" guy. Lovable and all, but kind of a dud. For about the first two months, after I burried Junior, Dug would come down to the "war room" with me and lay under the bench. I can't get him to come down there now unless I have food, even then, he's a little reluctant.

Here's "Dug", meeting "Pooch" for the first time.

I wouldn't call these guys "bench buddies", but they are fun to play around with!

"Pooch" is the tan/white pygmy...."Kevin" is the black/white Miatonic(fainting goat....yes, it is hilarious!!!)

(They are considerably larger now)

MM68 - You're little bench buddy is a sweetie, your lucky to have such a nice, mellow companion. Mine is a black lab named Ellie, 4 years old on Christmas day, (should'a named her Holley,) not your typical calm lab. She's what is called a "trials" or "field dog," she topped out at 45 lbs and is the original whirling dervish.

Fast, agile and even at idle she goes 100mph. If I'm at the bench the only time she'll stop by is with a toy in her mouth, her eyes telling me it's time to play. C'mon, dad, let's go.

Hello everyone,

I am sitting at my bench and realized that I have never seen a posting of a "Bench Buddy". Mine is Boomer. She is a 2 year old Basset Hound who is a blast to have around. She lives up to the reputation of a Basset...eats, sleeps and, well you know. It never fails when she thinks I'm heading to the bench she get's up and head's to her bed next to my bench. The photo is the only one I had on my laptop....she is 12 weeks old in this photo. Please post a photo about your bench buddy.
