Hello Jeff,

You don't know me, but when I read your post my heart went out to you. I'm so sorry to hear your news. As a fellow modeler and forum member I wish you all the best in your remaining time. Enjoy your family and live each day as it comes. And I'm sure Boomer will miss you too. God speed.

Regards

Mick

Mick,

Thank you sir for your kind words and I will live each day the best I can. You mentioned Boomer....it's amazing how dogs can sense when there is something wrong. Since we received the phone call and our follow up with the doctors' she has not left my side. Normally when we go to the dinner table she will stay laying by my chair or in her bed....now she follows me into every room and lays at my feet. I am going to miss my four legged best friend. I tried to play with her yesterday but all she wanted to do was lay in my lap.

Dogs are awesome creatures....truely a man's best friend.

Mick, again thank you and I wish you and your family many years of great health and happiness.

Sincerely,

Jeff

I am another of those that hope, pray and wish the best for you in your trials.

It may not mean much, but from someone on the other side of the equation, family members will grieve, but somehow we find the strength and curage to go on, and slowly rebuild our lives.  I'm still in the process after my soulmate left over a year ago.  I didn't expect to outlast her, but here we are.  I know your fmily will as well.

May God bless you and make your journey to his loving arms as easy as possible.

Thank you GoldHammer,

The past couple of days I have been talking with my family and assuring them I was ok and wanted them to celebrate our lives together and for them to mourn and then move on and be happy.

I told them I would haunt them if they wasted time mourning me too long (lol) My son and his wife live in the same state as my wife and I and he will help my wife move on. GH I am so sorry you lost your wife....I can only imagine the pain you suffered. I wish you a peaceful and healthy life.

Sincerely,

Jeff

Oh No. It happened so quickly.  He now knows no pain, no sorrow. My God, such a sad loss.

I know he was hoping to finish the A-10, and hope he was able to.  If not, I would hope someone would complete it for the family in his honor.

Jeff and I e-mailed back and forth for a few months, he never mentioned his illness until the FSM post about there being no hope left. He then told me how comforting it was to have his kids come home, and how much better it was for his wife to have everyone together.

He told me he was a railroad employee for many years, actually quite close to retirement and looking forward to it. He really enjoyed the travel around the country, while doing his job.

Just a very few days before his leaving us, his wife packed a picnic basket and they all took off for Glacier Nat'l Park, not too far from home. He said the weather was co-operative that day, but I don't know if they made it to the park, winter in the Rockies you know.

He loved his modeling hobby, always interested in learning more and advancing his skills. Humble about his abilities, but I think he was likely very good at his workbench.

I'm happy he called me a friend, he was surely my friend as well. My sincere condolences and sympathy to his family, his son Hunter was very nice to have honored Jeff's wishes, by letting us know about his passing.

Have a good rest, friend Jeff.
