I am very sorry that you've lost your dad. That's terrible news, we all really enjoyed his brief time with us.

His lesson to us, is that time is short and to the best of one's abilities, spent doing things that are meaningful, and making friends.

He will really be missed. Best of luck to you and the family, and hey if the mood strikes you, we'll be looking for ModelMan90!

We barely met and got to know one another for a brief moment on this site, but I really liked him as much as could be in such a manner and for such a brief timespan. Wow. I'm so sorry to hear this already. I never met your dad, but I wish I had more time to get to know him. In the few conversations we had, I realized that this was a man i wish I had known personally. His story touched me deeply. I don't want to turn this into a religious post, but I asked if he was ready to meet with God and he gave me a date when he gave his life to Christ. He then said that we was not ready to leave his family and friends, to which I told him that he was more ready than most. I sent him a message yesterday and I was afraid something happened because I never heard anything back. Because of this man I never met, I have decided to do my best to never take anything for granted. walks with my wife, holidays with the family, playing with the cats, hunting, playing bass guitar in church are all things that could be taken away at a moments notice. I don't want to look back on my life and wish I had enjoyed my life more. Thank you Modelman68. A good friend I never met.

I'm so sorry for your loss but I know that he  passed peacefully. He and I were just talking and he was very happy about his bosses visit. I was really worried when he did not respond back to our messages and now I know why. I can tell you he was glad you all were there and that you will be there for your mom. I'm really saddened because I so much enjoyed getting to know your dad. He and I had a lot in common and one of those things were our Clemson Tigers! For your dads memory I will always add a Tiger Paw to my figures signature.

I just finished my new figure for the Fine Scale column and here is the back, in honor of your dad.

So sorry to hear this. Knowing it was coming doesn't lessen the impact on you, your family, and us here. I didn't follow his builds as we built in different areas but that doesn't ease the sense of loss.

i'm glad he felt comfortable sharing with his friends on the forum and thank you for letting us know.

My most heartfelt condolences to you and your family. This is one of the hardest things that we as sons and daughters have to deal with when our parents pass. I dealt with my dad being in a coma for 9 months till his passing. Then I went thru the same thing with my mom some years later so I know about loosing loved ones. Believe me, Jeff is in a better place, free of any pain and disconfort.

I'm sorry to hear this, I don't think I ever talked to him here, only read a few of his posts. His contributions to this online community will be missed.

Very sorry for your loss. Your dad sounded like a class act, and I'm sure I speak for many when I say that his post about his illness made all of us reflect and ponder our own mortality. Maybe some good will be done by it, some bridges mended, some people forgiven or re-embraced. We all mourn the passing of one of our friends here.

I found this and the initial thread describing Jeff's condition much too late to speak of the courage to post such a private situation.  I read his description and felt a great deal of sadness as well as feeling a bit of admiration.  If the roles were reversed I am not sure I could do the same.  I would most likely just disappear.  I then read today of the passing and feel an overwhelming sense of sadness.  I was too late to interact with Jeff.  

Hunter, please go forward with the knowledge that although the words do nothing to help ease the pain of your loss, we all wish you and your family peace through this most difficult time.  Know that the pain you feel, although it will never go away, it will after time fade.  

As for myself, I wish you and your family blessings and peace.
