death I actually work at HMAS Albatross, so I might be able to get to the museum after work one day and take some pix for you. I can't remember if they have it on display or not. I'll go have a look one day.

Anyone else want some pics of any of the aircraft while I'm there? Might as well make the most of the visit.

Sorry Mick but you've got me stumped on that one, I can't find any interior shots at all nor any mentions of mods. I know that the Australia Aviation Museum has an ex RAN UH-1B up at HMAS Albatross but that's about it.

I'm visiting Townsville at the moment and lucked onto the local Toys'R'Us 50% off sale. I managed to buy the 1/32 Trumpeter F-105 for $70 and a Classic Airframes Rag wing Hurricane for $25 amongst others! Party [party]

Now I just have to get them back home to Wodonga.

Aussie modeller International is running two modelling competitions soon, one for christmas and one for ANZAC day. There wil be more info released shortly on them. Anyone can enter (in Australia that is) and on any topic as long as it's Australian. We have also had a complete overhaul of the site to make it more 'dial up' friendly, this will be uploaded on the 16th of October so check it out.

OK Mike (and MMM) here's the deal, I have found some backyard snaps of my Dad's parents place from the 40s and 50s. Unfortunately there are two small big problems, one is they had an indoor dunny Sad [:(]

and the second is that the photos are microscopic (approx 5cm x 3cm), however if you want a scan of them you are more than welcome. Sorry it's pretty lame but it's the best I can find.

The Aussie Modeller International website has had an update for those interested in Australian subjects with heaps more to come. We are always after content for the site if you have any models you would like to have published on the site or an article you would like there as well.

I got it from a US modeller for a fiver, he threw in a Zero gratis as well. Since then I found out they are as rare as hens teeth!

Lori (MMM) I've had a look through the old family photos, but all our stuff is from the late 60's and definitely no outdoor dunny. My grandma's had an outdoor dunny a loooong time ago but I don't know if I have any pics of it. I will keep looking but can't promise anything, sorry.

Hi all

Sorry about the absence, been a hectic few weeks here at home. Here is a few pics of my latest build, a Hasegawa F4U Egg Plane.

Built up very well, with only minor filler needed in places. I used a spraycan of Tamiya AS series Dark Sea Blue and Aeromaster Orange Yellow for the cowling colour.

Decals went on well and settled nicely with Mr Softener (recommended for Hasegawa decals). Once the wash was applied everything was sealed in with the usual Pollyscale Flat clear.

However, when I unmasked the canopy, some dust had settled on the black coaming inside the canopy which is obviously impossible to remove without ripping the canopy off Sad [:(]

Still, I have a beaut time building this little Bent Winged Egg and am now keen to get hold of the F-14/F-18/F-16 and WW2 eggplanes to add to my meager stash of them. The collectors prices are scaring me though!

If anyone wants to sell any, please let me know!
