Pat, I'm curious about that Guadalcanal.

John, that MiG looks good. I need some first gen jets.

I'm liking the your Mig John. Nice addition. Funny, we both must have Migs on the mind as I just got this Mig-3. Also, I was just recently thinking about a Mig-15 kit myself. How does that Trumpeter kit look?

Just a couple of new one's to the stash here. Sort of on a Soviet kick here lately.

The kit looks really nice.  After reading all the reviews, the trumpeter kit is the most accurate.  That mig 3 looks like a racecar!

Thanks,

John

I built that Mig-3. It's a good kit with no issues. I really like the look of that plane. The Su-35 is really cool also. I need to add one to the stash.

Joe I build that kit as well. Nice kit but I had issues with the wing fit. I'm pretty sure it was my fault.

Our club is selling a few kits.  Committed to a 1/32 trumpeter -3 Wildcat, and an Eduard 1/48. -3 Hellcat.  $40 for both.

Have both the 3 and 4 Wildcats, but kind of lost it in the pit in the -4.  Should be able to salvage what I managed to screw up.

Hi,

I've had my eye on one of them for a while and just stumbled acros one on eBay last week.  I probably spent a bit too much but it was about $80.

Talk about the power of suggestion.

This is hilarious. I love it.

Edit: Just found Real G's faux food thread. I had thought the single post by Doc had inspired your purchase. No matter, it's still funny. Big Smile

While not a model it will help with research and my other hobby, photography (and be useful should I find a work from home job).  It's an Asus gaming laptop.  Don't game yet (maybe if I can find a decent flight or racing sim set up, but that will have to wait until gainful employment is found).  Bought it so I could learn photo and video editing, and possibly CAD in the future.

Nice putter Buddy,

As far as I know the best flight sim is Microsoft.

Well John, I have to say I believe I've seen everything now. A model of a Cup-O-Soup, who would of thunk it.

And now for some new additions:

The Royal Class Mig-21 kit was a nice score for $30.00.

And some enhancements for all the Soviet kits I've suddenly accumulated:

Excellent Joe. I've been wanting that Saab and MiG. I built that Badger,  nice kit but had issues with the front half of the fuse fitting. I'm sure you won't have any problems though.

I like the weapons sets.

I turned in all my loose change from my change jar because of the national coin shortage, so I had this $50+ in my pocket burning a hole im it so I went to my LHS and got these items.

Should be fun projects

Went by Hobby Lobby today since models are 40% off and found this:

I picked it up since it had decals for this:

It will go along with the diorama for the White Sands V-2 I hope to do someday.  Big Smile

Some new kits I won at auction. The Etendard is the first Kinetic kit I've acquired. OOB it appears to be a really nice kit. Crisp detail and molding. Anyone have any experience building Kinetic?

Check out iRacing.  Amazing.  They have tracks like autoclub speedway in fontana that I've actually been on and the sim is spot on.  Its a thin client which boggles my mind as the performance is awesome.  You can drive alone or race against others online.  Supports steering wheel and pedals as well.

Still looking for a good flight game like Falcon way back.  I occasionally play Hind where you get to fly missions in a Mi-24v.  Pretty fun.

Thanks,

John

Went and picked up the 'Cat's yesterday, and added in the old hasegawa FB2-C1 in 1/32.

Thanks Steve.  I think the contact area dimensions are just outside the PGA's rules for putters.Wink

John,

I'll have to look into iRacing once I get interwebs other than my phone.

Our club had an unofficial gathering at a members house today and held a sale.  Picked these up.  I have a thing for early USN/USMC jets.

Research material on the Sea Harrier and F-22.

Because I'm kind of a space geek, I got these.  It turns out there's 14 volumes in the set and those that I'm missing can be got pretty cheap.  They're written for teens, but have some interesting pics.

Research for my growing collection of Bugs and Super Bugs.

Nice acquisitions everyone.

These are a combination of items I’ve ordered/picked up in June, September and October.
Acquired three armor kits I’ve desired for some time now. The Dragon Tiger I was a very good deal and the original issue of the kit from 2005 with all the detail parts and individual track links. The Matilda was purchased because I wanted a Matilda to replace the old Tamiya Matilda from the 70’s on the shelf. The Japanse SPG was found at a second hand store still sealed.

More figures to add to the stash. For future projects, These will probably be among the last plastic figure sets I’ll buy as I’m switching over to resin figures.

Speaking of resin figures here’s a couple. The figure from Tahk was ordered from Russia in late June and finally showed up around the middle of September as I recall. He’s destined to guard a Meng T-10 in the future. The Alpine figure was picked up just because I like the pose and have plenty of Tiger’s that need a commander.
One more resin figure from a new manufacture Life Miniatures from South Korea. I’ve wanted a decent Soviet Female Sniper in 1/35 and the figures available haven’t impressed me. I’m pleased with this figure just not the pose since it looks like a pose for a propaganda photo or a war memorial statue.

Oh wow great stuff there guys! Love those figures Greysnake!!!

Joe: I've partly built a Kinetic F-16. The molding quality is excellent but I've found the fit kinda spotty- some very good and some leaving a bit to be desired. I really need to finish the darn thing.

Agree - some nice figures.

lewbud - dig the f-11f.  I wish someone would do a new 1/48.  I built the old lindberg kit ages ago

Mail Call!  Don't normally do ships, but I read about the HMS Glowworm destroyer fighting it out against terrible odds.  Should be interesting at 1/700 scale

And this pinto will be a pro-street monster - and it comes with a coke machine and coke bottle green tinted windows  :giggles:

Thanks,

John

Nice looking stuff John.

I had to read up on the Glowworm. Brave sailors.

I finally was able to get this new set of IJN sailors from Tori Factory. They came out in Sep I believe and now HLJ is out of stock. I have a second set on order when it comes back in stock but I'm happy I was able to get these guys. 142 figures with pilots and deck crew. The Akagi will need around 300 on the deck.
