Some very nice pickups everyone.

Here are my recent pickups from the last month or so. Looks like I have a WWI and Japanese theme going on right now.

Stik, it is 1/35 it’s a Type 89 made by Fine Molds. I’ve been wanting to model of one ever since seeing a build article of a resin one in Military Miniatures in Review sometime in the early 2000’s. Of course at the time a full resin model was beyond my skill level and what I could afford as thirteen-fourteen year old.

Mopar Madness

They do have a Chernobyl type Soviet vibe.

Hehe, and so they do. Guess I could use them for that too.

Greysnake & SP: The Finemolds Type 89 is a nice kit, got one myself a little while back - it's the one common Japanese tank I didn't have. And congrads on the Finemolds Japanese tank crew- nice detailing and they're one of the few sets of IJA tankers out there.

I just picked up one of new Tamiya kits of the Pzkfw IV ausf F1.  Pretty nice.  Let's see, I did the original Italeri kits in 1974, several times because it had all the modifications to build the F1, F2 and G.  Then DML did one based on the Gunze Sanyo kit, then later DML did their own, (very neat).  I understand that next up will be the G version by Tamiya.  Let's see,  they will probably remake the T-34 next.  Any thoughts?

Personally I'd love to see them do some of the kits in 1/35 that they have done previously in 1/48 but not 1/35 of their own. Perhaps their Crusader I/II

I ordered this base on Friday and it arrived in today’s mail

and out of the package...

and a quick try on with my A-7 from last year. Just the thing for photo shoots!

Stik I don't remember that A7 but I sure do like it. The base will lend itself well to many great photo opportunities.

Stikpusher, I like that base - as you say, it'll be very handy for photos.

Keavdog, all 3 of those look good, I'm quite drawn to the Reaper - I've never thought of building one before, but I think it'll have to go on the list!

I really must stop looking in here, it's costing me a fortune, and I'm running out of space!

Nice buys, guys!

Vell, Zaphod's just zis guy, you know?

Sunday! SUNDAY! SUNDAY!!!

Nice dragster there John! That will be a cool one to see you build.

As for my latest, I had found this decal set up for sale on Scalemates awhile back. It finally arrived in yesterday’s mail. I’m planning to use the VF-162 option. It will look great next to my VF-162 Crusader one day.

Nice decals.  I like cutting edge.

Also ordered this ages ago from Poland - new company MACO - from their first run of 100 a plane so ugly you have to love it.

Thanks,

John

Had one in the stash and unloaded it on eBay a couple years ago to help buy our sons Xterra.  Seeing yours makes me want it back! Big Smile

Love that BV-222 DasBeav- though not sure I'd call it big- it's more like GINORMOUS!!!

Just got this one in. I'm thinking about adding some Eduards P.E. details to it.

DM-Love the P-38! Always wanted to do one that went together nicely.(have done 2 Monograms...lotta work)

Bish- thought about a dolly, but still won't fit on a shelf...will most likely hang from a ceiling.

MM-seeing what they were going for I didn't expect my $30 bid to win. It's going to be my winter project.

Gamera-Big with tiny parts...already looking for better tweezers!

DM, don't need much PE for that one I'm sure. She's probably a beauty out of the box.

More kits to build when I finally get over my model building slump.
A second hand store had a number of models for a good price and the Wespe, Sherman and Ferdinand came home with me. The Tiger I came from Sprue Brothers.

Bought something different from what I’m used to building a 1/350 ship. Got a very good deal on the Markgraf and want to give naval subjects another try. I need to get work on remodeling my hobby room to have a display for it once built.

I’ve been making an effort to get somewhat better at figure painting and picked up this 1/32 figure of Von Richthofen with his dog by Model Cellar.

Beav, that is a big beautiful flying boat that you scored!

DM, the Tamiya P-38! You lucky dog!

Greysnake... where do I start? That is quite a haul!

As for me, the other day I got one of those seller offers on eBay that I couldn’t say no to... and in today’s mail...

Stik, would you be interested in trading decals for the Dog? Mine's supposed to be in the mail today and I'm not fond of the Dennis nose art version.

If not, what kit number is that so I can see about getting an extra set from Revell?
