Nice score Gam!  I want to add a tempest & typhoon to the collection.  Looking forward to your build.

Thanks guys, looks like a really nice kit.

I partly build the old Eduard Tempest for a GB Bish had a few years ago and didn't finish because of parts going missing. This looks like an entirely new and much improved kit!

And I really, really, really don't need any new HobbyBoss kits but Sprue Brothers makes it so tempting!

Picked these up a week or so ago. The decals are for my Mk VIII Spit. 100th aniversary of the RAAF GB. The Callsign Models figure is for a build I'm planning with an M113 and 8 'tank' riders from AC Models.

Picked my Hobby Boss jackal up yesterday. For those have read reviews you will know there is an issue with this kit just looking at the box. Despite it saying jackal 1, the image on the box and the kit inside is a Jackal 2. But no fear, for those like me who want a Jackal 1 as well, there forthcoming Jackal 2 kit is actually a Jackal 1. Less just hope they get the Coyote right.

These sorts of errors seem to be common on kits from Chienese companies of modern British subjects. I've now seen it from Takom, Meng and Hobby Boss all making mistakes which could be avoided with a bit of research. But this time it seems to have been noticed by those doing the reviews.

Oh cool stuff guys!

Ferg: Love those figures and decals! I have an Aussie Vietnam Centurion- I love that TC figure. I may have to look around to see if I can find one too.

Bish: That's cool! I wonder if there just isn't as much interest in non-WWII subjects and non-tank subjects? In any case it cool to see something new that isn't another Tiger or Sherman.

Prowler: Ohhhhhhh, cool Chevelle! Same year as I was born!

There certainly doesn't seem to be a lot of interest in post war British armour subjects out side of the UK. So i have been surprised to see some of the releases over the last few years starting with the Takom 432. Many of these sujects were only in resin from Accurate Armour. And while i love German armour, i do think we have more than enough Tigers and Panthers.

Maybe there isn't that much comparative interest, but it 's about damn time that somebody started filling those gaps in Cold War UK AFVs. They did see some long term world wide service.

As for myself, I’ve had a few new items arrive over the past couple of weeks, so now I have enough worth posting…

First up, for the Academy 1/48 Hawker Hunter that I’ve had in my stash for ages, a cockpit set to replace the very under scale kit parts.

Then this nice old Accurate Miniatures 1/48 US ordnance set to correct or change some load outs on a few of my future builds… always nice to have!

and last but not least, a new improved more accurate better replacement for the Hobbycraft La-5FN that I built last week for my great nephew…

That’s all for now…

I just picked up an AMT 1/32 scale 1932 Ford Coupe at my local Walmart. I was just browsing about and came upon a small display of kits. They were mostly AMT cars and semi’s with a few Polar Lights Star Trek ships that are repopped by Round 2. Either way, glad to see a few kits there. I hope it continues.

I learned (or re-learned) something just recently - that Seversky became the Republic Aircraft Company.  I've already done a 48th scale P-47N this year, and am currently working on an old Hobby Craft P-35A.  So what could be more fitting than to go get the dad of the Thunderbolt, if the Seversky P-35 is the grandpa?

I took a look at the contents of this rather small box.  What I found was 7-8 sprues of some good-looking styrene, with many parts that look very fragile.  No locator pins on anything that I could see.  Loaded with detail in the cockpit, engine, and gear bays.  Includes a fret of PE.  This one is not even going into my general stash; it is going right to the build stash, with an eye on moving to the work bench after my next pending build (a Tamiya Focke Wulf Fw190D-9).

Nice, but looking like you are starting your own squadron of Phantoms.

Have the same superbird that I started years ago and just found in a drawer.

Still got the Vulcan to get. The general view is that it will be re-released next year with the Black Buck version, and thats what i am waiting for. From what i have heard, the kit released this year has that in mind.

I have so many F-4J decals and not enough kits. At $10 a piece hard to resist

I thought the Valiant was going to be the last kit i got myself this year. But went into the LHS on the way home to get some masking tape, the last thing i expected to see was the new Zvezda C-130, they don't usually have kits in so soon after release. But there it was. I didn't get the first kit hopeing for the new 130J-30 version so when they announced it, it was added to the wish list. After about 5 mins thinking about it, it found itself coming home with me.

I am so glad i resisted getting the Italeri kit several years back along with the very pricey conversion sets.

Yea, a guy on youtube also said that his local Walmart store was carrying some AMT/MPC kits.  I checked my local store and they didn't have any kits for sale.  Must be some type of regional thing.

At my Wal-mart, the kits were in a small, stand-alone aisle display. They were not in the traditional aisle with the toys, etc...but were near the toys and bicycle areas. I believe it may be a seasonal thing with the holidays approaching.

G'day Aggieman. I just purchased a magazine with a build article on the Dora Wings Lancer kit. Do you want me to scan it and send it to you? If so, PM me with an email address.

Nice score Bish!

This came in the mail the other day. It’s the old original Revell late 70’s vintage kit. Came out the same time as their Me-109G10, P-40E, and Spitfire II. I won’t be building it in the kit racer markings, but instead in one of the many 8th Air Force fighter group markings that I have…

No, it's a straight standard P-51D kit, not modified in any ways.

I've been away from these pages (and my workbench) for a few weeks, dealing with some other stuff.  Nothing serious, just things that needed doing.  So I've just had a quick catch-up, and there are some very nice addditions here.  Is everyone stocking up for the winterBig Smile?  I have to say I like the look of that P-43, Aggieman, and Bish's new Jackal takes my fancy, too.

I've been trying to hold off buying kits - I had hoped to go to the IPMS show at Telford (and no doubt come home laden with loot!), but I can't justify the cost.  Maybe next year.  Anyway, I did sort of Just Have A Look, Not Interested In Buying Anything, Honest, at e-bay, and snagged this for a song -

I've also got replacement tracks, as the rubber bands that came with it look like the worst I've seen in decades.  The replacements look like a lot of work, but I'd be letting the model down if I used the kit tracks.  The money I saved on the kit more than covered the cost of the new tracks.

I've also made myself a couple of storage racks from CD/DVD spindle lids and some threaded steel bar -

They take up very little space, and cost next to nothing.  I can see a few more being made for my woodworking workshop.

Stay safe, everyone, and keep posting.

Vell, Zaphod's just zis guy, you know?
