Yes, more Chevelles!

Revelle 1965 SS396

Lindberg 1966 SS396

AMT 1970 SS 454

I have only opened the AMT kit so far and it is definatly not a new kit with a ton of flash and mold lines to clean up!

*******

On my workbench now:

It's all about classic cars now!

Why can't I find the "Any" key on my keyboard?

Well DRUMS01 you were right the decals are squiffy! But a fellow modeller here in the UK has come up with a newer sheet, superb!

Yes keavdog, I'll think about that and the space I have. BUT.................

Having built a greenhouse for my wife just ten years ago, she wants me to build another but a shade smaller! But this one won't be growing real tomatoes/cucumbers/chillies/flowers or peppers, just scale model versions!

Neat kit Pat, and I agree with you as the decals for the red / green are really important for this livery. I bilt it many years ago (perhaps not the same kit), and the decals were shot so there was a lot of masking and painting. Even then it was difficult replicating the smaller decals. Sure hope yours are good. This is one of my favorite cars of the period.

I looked at the fulmar kit as well.  Doesn't look like a carrier bird, but most fairey planes don't look like what they're supposed to be Stick out tongue

Looking forward to your B-26 build

Thanks,

John

Got another one, this time a kit that I've never built from any manufacturer.

My latest arrivals, a couple of newly-released childhood favorites, and ICM's latest twin-engine bomber.

I'll probably hold on to those prehistoric kits until my 7-month-old grandson is old enough to build them with me.  But the B-26 will be all mine.  I'll likely do a combo build with an original release Monogram that I have in the stash.

Gamera

SP: Oh wow, are those recent decals? I remember some ESCI decals with the same sort of header card I bought back in the mid '80s. Am wondering if they're that old or they reissuing them in the same package.

Gamera, those are old decals... no idea how old exactly... Confused

Today after our monthly AMPS meeting here, we made the usual trip to Andy's afterwards where I picked up these goodies...

Yes!

That's the beast right there! I have had to build the cranes twice for instance. They keep coming apart when I try to introduce the Booms. I am going to wait at least a week before I try it again. There some missing smallboats so I added some from the parts box. Look perfect in context. I am even thinking about drilling the portholes deeper so the paint won't make them disappear.

Yes, I am going to prime the hull first! It has an aweful dish when you turn it upside down, Right down the centerline. It would've been better if they had done the hull in two pieces. I, so far, have used half a tube of filler and about three full lengthwise swipes with Squadron Green Putty! Still not disappointed in it for a builder. Trying to undo someone's mess-ups is fun to me.

According to scalemates it was originally released as the Bismark.  Then later released by ARII and Micro Ace.

This the kit?

Thanks,

John

Hi!

Again, No Photos. Has anyone heard of KANGNAM? Well, at the last train show, I acquired a partially started model of the Tripitz. Supposed to be motorized.(What is it with Chinese/Japanese kitmakers and Motorization?) Except for the Battery holder, all that stuff is gone.

In cleaning it up I discovered a model that falls right between a Hasegawa kit and a Lindberg Kit. It is chunky in spots and amazingly detailed in others. Not bad when viewed up close either. Many parts are fiddly, Much more so than you'd expect to find in something designed to run across your pool(If you have one)

I am at the point I had to stop. Some unfortunate mis-building led me to have to push it back and start something else for a day or two. The previous builder had messed up the anchor points for two of the main gun turrets. So while they are being sent down for refit I decided to find somethinng else to do. Before I started that I thought,"Well" "Self, how about painting some of it?" Self said "Sure".

Turns out that this model of the Tirpitz is molded in a plastic that is so close to RLM Dk.Grey(North AtlanticSea Blue) that it's hard to figure out where bare and covered is. The former builder sprayed it with some light grey in spots. How about a paint that even Tenax wouldn't smear?

If you find this kit anywhere get it. it is a fun build. Out of the Box, it would be a slammer! And a good looking addition to your "German North Seas Fleet" if you have one.

Est.1961:

I don't know too many folks even on the Edge of modeling who can Resist a P-51. That's just not done. Good find!    T.B.

Promised myself no more until I've built a number not quite settled in stone in my mind. In my defence the Model T was €19:99 and the Mustang 1:32 was down from €50:49 to €24:99. Doesn't happen often enough to be discounted Oops

Sorry to hear that Pat.  In the states there are legal avenues for someone who backs out of a deal if you choose to go down that path.

Thanks,

John

Thanks guys, yes the house move collapsed, the lady we were buying from couldn't decide and took her 2 bed bungalow off the market! That's twice now, the first bungalow was lost as our buyer was furloughed, lost his Mortgage offer, that was at the begining of COVID19!

Now this one. Had to pay solicitors/surveyors fees on both too! Nearly £2000 each! Another bungalow has come up at £100,000 dearer than our 4 bed detached house! Need to find a currency printer, you know real cash!

Yes the brand is Beemax-NuNu.

My second purchase for the year is Hobby Boss's new B-24J Liberator.

I've read some negative reviews, but don't care.  I'm throwing this one right into my "build stash" for the year, and I believe I will build it alongside an original, still in the shrink wrap 1976 Monogram B-24J Liberator.  That will be ambitious and take up every square inch of available space on my workbench.
