Tamiya does a 1/35 PBR... dio coming

Yep. I have an 80% complete PBR that I started years ago and then just put aside for one reason or another. Not that anybody ever does that ...

I've been wanting one of these ever since I built the 1/72 by Revell in the 70's. Finally, it's in my scale.

Without getting too much into it, I looked at the plastic and the mold quality and detail looks fantastic.

OMG!

I have wanted to do this with a river patrol boat for years. Had no clue they were making one!

Est.1961

Very good deal thats about 50 euros to me; 17 euros each at that scale is a real result.

Happy building

Yep. Unelss I lucked out and found any of these on a shelf someplace I would be looking at an easy $150 for the truck and $100 each for the planes. That of course is if had to bring over from the USA and includes shipping and duty costs. Could probably find some in Canada but even then would pay more and still have shipping costs.

Got three kits for $75 (keep in mind I am in Canada where kits can cost almost double what they do in the US.). He really wanted to get rid of them. There are probably another 10 or so including a couple of Tamiya 1/350 battleships with full photoetch add on kits that I may just go in with $500 cash and offer for the whole works.

I've built that F-5 a few times.  Latest is in aggressor markings.  I love flory washes - swear by them.

Oh wow Ben!  In to big models lately.  Can't wait to see that one built up.

Order from Ukraine finally got here

Some parts for my 1/72 ch-53, c-130 and a beautiful Canadair Challenger - pretty tiny in 1/144.

Thanks,

John

A couple of new purchases came in, one that I'd forgotten was coming from Kitlinx.

Found the Tiger II on Kitlinx for a lower price than I saw it on eBay.  Thought that one would be fun to revisit from my childhood circa 1979, so I went ahead and grabbed it.

I am about to run out of my first couple of bottles of Flory.  Not sure why I thought I need all these colors, but one never knows.  Got them directly from Flory.

Great stuff as usual guys!

Aggieman: Yeah the Meteor is a gem of a kit, built one years ago. It's dang near the perfect kit.

Ben: Very cool additons. I've got the same high-speed tractor. I really need to get around to building the darn thing...

Time for a new update. While attending the BLIZZCON Model contest I scored some real good deals on the following:

AND THESE TOO:

I always wanted one of the Modern American heavy haulers and the artillery tractor will go well with my towed 8 inch. They were only $70.00 and $25.00 respectively, so I couldn't walk away from them.

Image

Image

Jarrod was also excited to get the following kit (he picked it out) for only $5.00:

Image

Jarrod and I have another larger kit in route; it has rotors, flies, and hauls heavy things. We will post pictures upon arrival. I think branching out into armor and aircraft may be a re-awakening for Jarrod and I. Figures, ships, armor, aircraft, Space and Sci-Fi.....so I'm realizing it's not all about cars. We are going to blame the many group builds for broadening our interests.

Still waiting on another kit to be delivered, coming slow boat from China, a Bandai R2-D2 and C-3P0 boxing.  Ordered at the beginning of January, shows it was shipped by 11-January, and no updates since.  I'm beginning to wonder if Godzilla sank the ship....

I understand they started shipping by ballon so don't know what could have happened to it.

My latest stash additions were not any that I had planned for.  Just happened across them on eBay and thought, yeah, I built that one several years ago but I bet I can do it better now.

I built the boxing of the Meteor that came with the V-1 probably about 20 years ago. Wasn't my best effort, so getting another crack at it is going to be a good thing.  I'd built a Monogram Pro-Modeler F-84G maybe about 15 years ago.  Not a bad job on that one, but when I saw that posting, I decided to pick it up.

I haven't bought anything recently, due to a slump in "give a darns", and the rising cost of just about everything, but I dropped by Ollie's today (due to a posting about them getting some new models in).  There was the Revell AH-64 Apache, and this one.

Since it was $13.00, it about fit my price range, so I picked it up.  I hope to build this for the "Between the Wars GB" since the Roden DC-3 is fairly non-operative.  Sad

Nice one Tcoat; I've used Greenstuff before and have just put another order in including a fluorescent. Agreeable prices and fast delivery won me over.

Annnnnddddddd while I'm posting two figures I picked up earlier this year. Both 3D printed and about nine inches / 20cm tall....

Quorra from 'Tron: Legacy', one of my favorite movies...

I wish I could find a good way to dupicate the glowy neon effect from the movie. I guess just white paint may be the best...

And Judy Alvarez from the PC game 'Cyberpunk 2077'. Two arms, your choice cigerette or wine glass:

And great I gotta paint all these bleepin' tattoos... Bang Head

And then I just happened to be looking at Cult TV Man's website for monster figures and gee friggin' whiz... a D'deridex class warbird on a 'scratch and dent' sale. My favorite bad guy starship... I bought the kit back when it came out back in '87 or so and made quite a mess of it. So what the heck, hope the second run turns out better. I'd like to light her, not sure I'm up to it though...

And the Bird of Prey. Hey Romulans are my favorite bad guy aliens. I never had the original AMT ship, this is the later Polar Lights smaller 1/1000th kit.

And the Cardassian Galor, another kit I bought back when it came out in '92 or so. Shr turned okay I suppose. But this kit was cheap and I hope on rebuilding her I can do a better job...

SP: Ohhhhhhh looks cool! Do they make decals for the Zeros in the movie? That would make a cool matching set. As well as being perfect for an '80s catagory in a contest.

Armournut: Sounds awesome, please post photos!!!

Anyway, I said NO NEW KITS, and then Sprue Brothers put the T-34E with extra armour on their 'lighting sale' for half price and guess who couldn't help himself...

And then I ordered a T-34/85 to go with her Bang Head

First kits I've bought from Rye Field and Border, look like really nice kits in the boxes:

Thanks guys!

Tony, Im looking forward to building it. Just got too much on my plate right now already.

Brandon, thanks for the heads up on issues to be dealt with. It almost sounds like some metal landing gear might be a good idea with that much weight needing to be added.

Stik, built that kit. Loved it. Be aware that the wing join to the upper fuselage is often VERY warped and needs some good ole heat to fix. Other than that its a superb kit and will need 3x the nose weight they suggest. FYI

Tony and John, you guys picked up some great tread head scores!

Many years ago, I picked up a 1/48 Kinetic E-2 from a guy at IPMS who was selling one off. I got a great deal on the kit, but I was never satisfied with the kit markings options. Recently I found out about this decal company, HADModels that made decal sheets for the aircraft in the movie The Final Countdown, including the E-2 seen in the film. So I found a set online from one of my favorite eBay stores and now I have the problem of the kit decal choice solved.

Robert: Hey wow, now that's an awesome haul! Congrads on the Zeros and good luck with the move!

Tojo: Wow oh WOW! Love the BIG Tiger and the 1/35th kits are cool too!!!

I ended up buying a few items, I guess I should post them. I'm still in denial that I bought anything though......

Well it's official I'm out of control, these two came today one day after the Tiger.

The IV comes with PE schurzen,a flat car,and a rail bed.

The Stug has 4 interior figures,a complete interior, and stowage.

They both look great in box
