Hi Ed,
I am sort of new to these forums, so other than seeing some hastily thrown together models, is there a history here? There isn't anything wrong with being proud of your work when you are learning, as it appears he is, but I doubt he is a "pro" anywhere but on eBay. It is a shame that he doesn't appear to understand what a real pro (or even a good amateur) model looks like. All he would have to do is look at the models displayed in these pages, and he might see something for inspiration!

Model on!

Guys - I myself cannot churn out perfection every time I put something together.
If some one turned up at a club meeting with poorly made kits I dont think many of us would point and laugh, but he is looking for money and using the 'P' word.
I have seen work by amatures who should be using 'pro' but will not.
If you set yourself up like this you should be ready to take the hits - keep em coming

Amazing...

He sold the Paladin for $79.00 and the F-84 for $69.00.

Hmm...methinks it's time to start building some "Operation Freedom" kits.

I just read the "Pro's" reviews on e-bay. To his credit, unlike "Jonesy" he at least
delivers and packs well. All 3 reviews are positive. For real "pro-built" models
one only needs to look at Fine Art Models website. The price alone is a dead
giveaway that this guy is no pro.

Well if you read the buyer comments, they seem just a bit too enthusiastic after spending that kind of money. I wouldn't be suprised if there's a bit of "circular" buying going on there. You know, his other personalities may be buying themWink [;)]

I'm sorry, if it wasn't for the circumstances I'd love to give this guy tips and advice and all the help I could, but using that "P" word just gripes my grits. (that's another "southern english" sayingBig Smile [:D] )

I meant that this guy reminds me of Jonesy in a roundabout way because he just keeps at it. And one doesn't need to look at anything else to know that this stuff ain't "pro-built". Dead [xx(]

It's difficult to tell on the feedback deal. Each of the three who bought from this guy, with the exception of one, seem to buy mostly items which are in no way related to modeling.

One has bought nothing but clothing. One has only recently bought a few model-related items, but mostly sports stuff and clothing. The third has made several model-related purchases, some sports stuff, some misc stuff and clothing.

Make your own deductions and draw your own conclusions. But I too have to laugh at the "pro-built" deal. There's alotta funny s*** in this world of ours, and this is just one of 'em!

Yup...I'm no pro (by a long shot), but this guy isn't either...shouldn't be calling himself one, and trying to get people to buy his stuff under false premises...

merlin, at least he answered your "ask seller a question". When I sent him one he ignored me completely. Maybe he followed the link to the last thread and didn't like what he read.

Ok, as a geography buff, this guy really irked me! Regarding the description with the F-84 and sending "one poilet over the No. Pole from Japan or So. Korea,to Russian targets" What? When the Korean Peninsula borders Russia and Japan is a short over water flight from Russia, why fly over the Pole? May his cat shed on all his freshly "airbrushed" models...oh wait, it looks like they did!

Okay you guys, listen to me now and believe me later
My theory, (and I think it's an excellent one)
Ya all remember Baghdad Bob from Operation Kill Saddam Hussein.
Well, this is the same guy!
Think of the commonalities here. They both make outlandish claims which bear absolutely no resemblance at all to the images we are seeing before our very own eyes and they're both named Bob!..I ask you--coincidence??

Hmmm-------Maybe you got a point. And the timing works out too.

From when "Baghdad Bob" disappeared, to when "Modeler Bob" appeared, would leave just enough time for him to slap his kits together in such a slovenly manner. And put them up for sale.

Merlin your a genius!!!!!!!!!

We can test your theory merlin, I heard they caught Baghdad Bob yestersday (6/25/03). So if this guys "pro-built" stuff quits showing up on e-bay then we know it is him.

That may also explain why his OIF stuff is so unrealistic, Baghdad Bob never saw U.S. tanks either.Tongue [:P]

You know.
In the begining I defended this guy because I thought it was a "kid" trying to make a buck on the K mart kits he got down the street.(I consider kids to be 16 and younger).
Now I am sorry I did that.
I see clearly that this person is posing as a pro and does not have the skills he advertises.
I would like to apologise for making an "arse" of my self in past posts.

This does give me an idea though.
Perhaps we should put up a few of our own kits out their and drive this guy out of buisness?

Your thoughts???

I don't know...
His Bristol Beaufighter looked pretty good, but the interior looked unpainted...
At least he's gotten better at at making the EXTERIOR look good, but he still needs more than enough time on the INTERIOR!!
The seams need to be filled too.

I wouldn't say he's a "Pro" but he ain't half bad. Maybe, to quote "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade", he should "Try reading books instead of burning them..."?!
