Ross writes, “I was inspired by the TV show ‘Dogfights,’ in which Lt. Robert Johnson was almost shot down and killed except for the ruggedness of his P-47. He was wounded but survived to accumulate 27 aerial victories. I also acquired a print of the encounter, which I framed.” Ross added a True Details cockpit, Eduard photoetched-metal details, and Superscale decals to Tamiya’s 1/48 scale Thunderbolt. He finished it with Gunze Sangyo Mr. Color paints.
