Revell 1/48 CH-53C
Posted by B_one fixer on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 7:34 PM

Since I dont have a academy CH-53E in 1/48 and did not want to fork out a small fortune for one I decided to work with revells offering.

Although it is an old kit, the molds have held up nicely. I converted her into an CH-53D and used pieces from the wolfpack 1/48 CH-53E update set as well as decals from flying leatherneck. all paints are from the Gunze Mr Color line.

Very nice! I have the Academy CH-46 & 53 in stash, this makes me want to build one. Your build up looks the part.

Very nicely done!  The panel lines and weathering look spot on for these aircraft.  The exhaust stains down the side of he aircraft are spot on as well.  It looks like a Delta based out of Kaneohe Bay.

Thanks all,

I love these old kits, and it is indeed based off of an Ex- Delta model based at K-Bay.

Sorry i missed this B_one. Thats a great looking build, really well done.

I once had the experiance of trying to stand up underneath one of these, the downwash is somthing else. Amazing bit of kit.
