We have a member here ( old hooker ) who has been busy with house stuff lately and he was with the Guns a go go in Nam....

Besides the CH47-A the next 1/35 Hook from Panda will be the CH47-B 'HEAVY'.....and in thier web site they show a picture of what I think is Easy money or Birth control......I'm pretty sure its a B?

Your in the right place! We are lucky to have current and ex millitary CHOPPER folk here! Cool [8D]

Well, all I can say is it's about time for some encouraging news from Panda!

There is such an incredible market for this aircraft, I think Panda is going to be overwhelmed at the demand.... then maybe "The Cobra Company" will produce a KILLER super detail kit as an accessory add-on! Ooops... there I go dreaming again![:0]

For those of you who are new here, and desire to build the ACH-47 version of this release, you can find a wealth of reference photo's on my website; "They Called Them GUNS A GO-GO" (http://gunsagogo.org)

Thanks for the heads-up Troy!

Thanks for the link, but this is not a new kit.
It is only hard to find. I think Dragon got it out of thier catalog.

Actually, it doesn't matter. The Dagon set is fine and
I see there are a few other Vietnam sets of figures available.
A bit of variety to choose from.

James,

QUOTE: Oh, how many crew members on a Vietnam CH-47A?

A *Slick* Chinook in Vietnam carried the Pilot, Co-Pilot, Flight Engineer, Crew Chief, and up to two Gunners. (the CE usually assumed one of the door gun positions, but the FE's job was to concentrate on the helicopter)

The ACH-47A carried the Pilot, Co-Pilot, Flight Engineer, Crew Chief/#1 Gun Position (front left), and four Gunners, generally 11 Bravo types, on #2 position (front right), #3 (right waist), #4 (left waist), and #5 (ramp).

Its funny how Panda shows a picture of one of the GO GO'S on thier site for the CH47A 'HEAVY'......but then again what other 'heavy' hooks were in Nam?

Hope there will be a decal selection for all four GO GO birds!
Easy money, Birth Control....what are the other two Frank?

Troy,

The word "Heavy" is a word that Panda has chosen to use for some reason, as the term was used when a pilot is relating to ATC that his aircraft was fully loaded.
example:
"An Khe apprach, Army 149 Heavy, 20 miles to the south, inbound"...... or after getting on the ground and being tied down, you wouldn't say; "I've been out flying in this CH-47 Heavy" Confused [%-)]

The Go-Go Aircraft were as follows:
#64-13145......... "Co$t of Living"
#64-13149......... "Easy Money"
#64-13151......... "Stump Jumper"
#64-13154......... "Birth Control"

To see a picture of each aircraft, with clickable close-ups of each ones Artwork, go here: http://gunsagogo.org/aircraft1.htm

Later dude........

Dragon likes to play games with their figure sets. According to a source at High Sierra Hobbies in Reno, NV, they will make a limited run and then stop for a few months while doing the same with other kits and then make another run and so on. I was lucky enough to find 2 sets at High Sierra while I was living in South Lake Tahoe for the last year. I had been looking for over 3 years!!! Extremely nice set, by the way.Thumbs Up [tup]

Those release dates for the PN35001 CH-47A in june and the PN35002 ACH-47 GUNS A GO GO in july has me a little confused. I wonder if thats a misprint or if they ment june/july 2004???? By the way july is my birthday month!!!!! A 1:35 CHINOOK would make an AWSOME!!!! birthday gift!!!
