Yes, it's 6-7/04.

Looking forward to seeing how well the folks at Panda researched the Chinooks, but regardless, it'll be noting a little scratch building won't cure! Wink [;)]

Ya know, I think the new kit may be just the thing I have been looking for, although I didn't know it until I read this thread. I don't have any hands-on experience with helicopters but I have loved them for as long as I can remember. The Chinook has always had a special place in my heart because I grew up in Chinook, Montana!

I have a few small scale Chinooks including Italeri's ACH-47, but the new 1/35 would really be impressive! Can't wait!

Finally someone has got the courage up to produce this kit.Bow [bow] Now one can only hope that there isn't a lack of detail. I have the F-35A and B and the U.S.S Cole models and they weren't that bad, but I guess i have to give them time since they are new to the industry. IS IT JUNE YET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Banged Head [banghead]

Still a bit concerned about how well the kit was researched..... I mean, as Troy said, Panda describes it as a CH-47 "Heavy". Boeing-Vertol classified/s the CH-47 as a "Medium Lift" (the CH-54 was and always will be THE "Heavy Lift" aircraft).... my question is; if Panda didn't research well enough to discover this, what other details did they miss?

If someone posted in here; "Hey guys, I use to fly left seat in a HC-52!", we'd all know it was either a mis-print, or he just doesn't know what he's talking about...... or what I'm afraid of (in Panda's case) he'd say; "52... 54.... it's all the same thing"

Frank,

I know my problem is I was close up and personal with the Huey for too many years and now days when someone builds a model it's researched by some 20 year olds on the computer and then drawings made on the computer for the molds and if they do ask an "experts" opinion it will be someone like our "friend" talked to or the Capt you spoke too! I will want to see what's in the box before I buy it if Panda makes it.

Clear Left!

Roger that, Mel! I imagine that kit is going to be pricey, and I'd hate to spend that much money on something that will need 40 hours of scratch building to make it accurate!

(We'll let Papa Echo get one first, and he'll be our Go or No-Go meter, okay?) Cool [8D]

PANDA Guinea pig huh?

NO PROBLEM!

For a 1/35 scale HOOK its worth it!

From what I have seen the Panda kits do not cost anything like the Trumpeter or Tamiya kits. I do not believe the Hook will cost more than 40.00 or 50.00 tops!

Could be worse....could be a Revell of Germany kit!...$$$...at least then you know it would be very researched.

I can't wait for my 1/72 scale VII C U-BOOT!....37 inches long!

Its encouraging that the -47 is finally getting some attention from a model producer. I'll just have to be patient a while longer & wait for a D model. In 48th.
