All the bridge tower piers lean inward towards the centre. Standard template sheet won't work here. So I decided to make a template of where each pier would be at bridge girder height. To do this, I had to project from an outline of the template at the base to the required height, and secure the template above it. Then lean all the piers into the template.

Do you know what 'Minder' is 'ooping' about?

I'm thinking of sending Mothman out there to give Minder something else to look out for... Devil

Thanks, Gamera, for complement.

Looks like the Devil hijacked your post, and threatened to harass a plastic figurine. That ought to be funny.

...Oh boy. There is gonna be a trouble.

Not by me.

I sometimes think that Minder is Spring-Heeled Jack. If so, Mothman won't have a chance of catching him.

Here, Minder is complaining about poor workmanship of the joints. Naturally, I blamed it on the tools.

Coming along great.

Noticed you have "x"ed the tops of the center piers, whereas the movie artwork shows the tops squared off and "x" members over the railbed on the pilings.  But still early on with the build.

Always liked the movie and have read a little on the history and have seen a documentary on some of it that was shown here in the states.

I rather follow plans first. If not plans, then photographs. If no photos, then I am obliged to rely on artwork (last resort). Lot of the photographs do not show distinctly the 'X' on top, due to angled shot. Below is a better photo, especially on the right side.

Please feel free to post what these documentry films are, or other films related to the Thai-Burma Railway. I will post two other movie posters shortly.

Ah, Okay.  Was just basing off of the first two pics you had up on the first page of the movie artwork.

I can't remember the name of the documentary, was shown on either History or AHC (mostly military history programing) here.  Hopefully someone else will chime in with it.  I remember quite a bit of it had to do with the long cut that was dug with pick and shovel.  They had a train run over some of it with survivors/relatives.

Do you hear that Gam? Mothman may have met his match.

PS: Good progress Peter Pan.

Hellfire Pass.

I will be including part of that in the diorama.

Yeah, I think if Mothman tries to sabotage this bridge Spring-Heeled Jack will kick him in the mothballs... Dead

Lol. Gam--maybe you should send in that washed out Preditor dude. He might give Spring Heeled Jack a good thrashing.

Just a thought.

Thanks Bakster and Gamera for the humourous banter.  The rise of evil characters brought me back to my tribute. Here is a sketch done by one of the POW.

POWs getting transferred to the Burma 'Death' Railway.

Added outer girders and additional horizontal braces.

Started to add tapered cantilever support arms. Minder is still with us, and here he is supervising the construction Stick out tongue.

Now he keeps watch over the bridge. In the morning, to get me back to work, he sings like a rooster.

Looks great. I can't believe how fast your moving with this build. You may have already stated this but is everything being held together with just wood glue?

Thanks, Rambo.

Wood PVA glue for larger pieces and/or assemblies that take time to align/fix in place. Super glue (SG) for pieces that I can hold in place for short period; meaning, all smaller pieces. Super glue soaks into the wood and often leaves poor surface bonding. In these cases I go back a few minutes later to add a drop of SG to the joint. The second application does not soak (as much) into the sealed wood.

The bridge will not be baring any weight, other than itself.
