Hey rob, I might be interested in a tail wheel set or two, what would it include? I'm also very curious to see what you will do with the main landing gear. Maybe something that would be retractable? And with a main wheel that would spin, so this way, you could use the weighted tires when wheels are down. Then spin the wheels to have the un weighted sides down when the gear was up. Just an idea.
I'm curious to see how you and matt are gonna make the o2 bottles. I used .25 solid styrene rod cut to length. I chucked each one in my cordless drill and rounded off each end with a metal file. Painted each one yellow and added very thin silver painted strips of masking tape, 2 strips per tank. A little time consuming at first, but ince I got the hang of it down I was able to turn each one pretty quickly.
On a foot note to the conversation about the TD cockpit set. Remember I asked about there only being only one control column and control yoke? I called squadron about 2 weeks ago because the hobby shop I got the set from told me to call, that's all he could do. I called and asked about that problem, spoke to someone there who said to take it back to the hobby shop. I told them I was told by the LHS to call you. The lady told me they should not have done that, they were supposed to take care of it. I tried to explain to her that the problem was not with the hobby shop, but with the kit itself, the parts are not in the set, by design (how it look's to me). She didnt understand what I was trying to tell her and said she would have a supervisor call me back....this was 2 week's ago. I' happened to be off work today and try to call again. I again explain my situation to them with similar results. I was told they were going to reffer me to the wholesaler because they should resolve it. I asked to speak to a supervisor, was put on hold and told she was at lunch and will have to call me back. The same lady called me back 30mins later, and said I was right and they will be sending me the needed parts. In the end, good customer service!
The TD set only has one of each part, seat(#5), column(#6) and yoke(#7). Two of each are needed to actually build the cockpit. If you call and explain the problem, they'll send the extra parts
