Rob, how did you contact Clyde at Dynamic Scale Modeling? I can't seem to find an email or phone number for him on the website?

Hi Rich,

The light, and engine sound kit was supplied by Dynamic Scale Modeling.  I don;t have the specs on the LED's but if contact Clyde, he might be able to help you out.  You can have as many lights as you want.  I was a little bit limited to what I could do because of the skeleton configuration.

Here's a video of everything operating before I started installing.

Thanks

This Fort looks absolutely amazing!  You should be really proud of it.  I had a question.  You have me inspired to light one of my fort kits.  I was wondering if you could let me know how many lights you used total, as well as what types (LED Grain bulbs etc.) and what colors you used?  I basically want to light all of the navigational and landing lights, as well as the inside compartments.  Thanks and keep up the awesome work.

Hi Plasticutter,

Almost every bulkhead is scratch built.  The tail wheel is as well!  I built it from photos I found on the internet.  I don't have drawings.

Sorry

Can I get a copy of your information so I can incorporate it into my B-17? I really like the set up you have for the tailwheel struts!

I have a Monogram B17F kit in 1/48.  If you can wait a couple of days, I could scan in the manual and send it to you.  But I have to wait for my replacement printer/scanner to get here.

I wouldn't mind getting an e-mail that I could print with the parts manual and stuff. It would REALLY help with my B-17, though its an early 'F' model that I'm doing.

Thanks Hookdriver.  I worked with Clyde at Dynamic Scale Modeling.  http://www.dynamicscalemodeling.com/

He set the system up with everything I wanted, sent me more wire when the lights need to be extend, etc.  The engines are so smooth at start up and shut down.  I can't wait to finish this.

Rob, I've been watching this thread since the beginning Bow Down. Can you give some insight on the lighting system, such as where you purchased the LEDs, power supplies, etc? I'm getting ready to start a 1/48 B-24 and you have motivated me to give the lighting a try. Amazing job and can't wait to see more.

All lights are installed and functioning.  I painted the interior leds with some clear orange to tone them down.  Time to finish the interior.

Started the fuselage wiring today.  Unfortunately, the lights to the vertical stab and the tail gunner are not long enough.  I sent a note to Clyde asking for more wire.  This has to be the smallest wire I have ever seen.  Hopefully he gets back to me soon.

I received the rest of the rivets today.  Should have enough to finish the model now.  I really under estimated when I started this part of the build.  If I hadn't started adding the rivets, this puppy would have been done by now!  Bang Head

I have a 4 day weekend and if it rains, I'll finish up the other wing.  LOL  It's going to be 80 and sunny.  Just watch!!!!  Censored

Sneaky Pete, all the floors in the 17 are wood.  Approx 3/8 plywood.  in the nose and flight deck and radio room they are flat, but aft of the ball turret they follow the curvature of  the fuslage.   They also narrow the further aft they go.
