HAMMER: I understand what your saying and agree with you completely. All Im saying is the only reason I havent tackled the Tamigawa kits in my stash is because I believe I have a ways to go in improving my skills. I don't want to get started on one of those kits till I've gotten better at cleaning up seems, shading,/weathering, masking.... I love Monograms kits because they turn out models Im happy to display and if I make mistakes it doesn't hurt so much knowing I only dished out $12 to $15 and I can go out, get the same kit, start over and learn from my mistakes. Ive got a couple of Tamiya's 1/48 Lancasters in my stash that I cant wait to get started on. These planes are near and dear to me and I want to do a REALLY god job on them. But if I was to make rookie mistakes and ruin the kit $80 or more is going to hurt trying to replace the kit.
TROUBLEMAKER: B-17's were sold to England in the early parts of the war and Shawns build is a beauty. Though I have to admit, Ive never seen one in the night bombing colors. Not saying they didnt exist, just that I havent seen em. Most of the ones I saw were in the RAF's Coastal Command colors. Gray Green on top and white bottoms. There used to be a very talented builder on this site named Swanny. Some of the guys here can probably point you in the direction of his web site. He has a very nice build of one on his page. Plus his site was loaded full of tips to make better models. I know I learned alot from it.
