I'm sure I'll find one eventually. I haven't used eBay in years but I'll probably set it back up eventually.

Until then, the continuous hunt around the south western half of Washington has turned up some fascinating results lol.

I'm really enjoying the thrill of the hunt lol!

Thanks Mike. Those Monogram MiG-15's are all over eBay. I'm surprised that Revell has not re issued it in many years.

I still need to pose the Sabre with my other two Monogram Korean War birds, the F-80 and F9F.

Well today I paired up my recent F-86 build with a couple other R/M Korean War contemporaries, theIR same vintage MiG-15, and their more recent F-84E

Great looking p40! Definitely not too many pictures! No idea about new thread never heard a response to that question

Maybe once I get my PB stuff recovered... I only have about 11-12 years worth of photos to retrieve.... Too much on my plate to do it all at once.

in the meantime, let's just keep on keeping on here.

Be sure and signal when you start a new thread. I don't wanna get lost and hafta find my way back home!

Michael's had some great coupons this weekend, so we bought two P-47N kits. With some juggling the cost came out to be essentially two-for-one. One Jug will be P.R. ANG the other will probably be Hawaii ANG. I like discounts...

OK. In the stash: Way too much to build in one lifetime...

Thank you very much! No I haven't heard an answer to that yet either. Replacing all of those pictures in this thread is going to take a lot of time. Archiving this post and starting a new one wasn't a bad idea.

Very nicely done P-40 you have there - I like how you did the canopy and fuel caps.

Thanks! That was the second one I built because the first one got stepped on lol.

Well if you ever want any help with figures I seem to be the guy to ask lol.

The last time I painted the pilot for that kit he turned out like this;

Just give me a PM and I will do what I can to help.  :)

Wow - that's a sharp looking pilot!  You are definitely the guy to consult on the subject - I may have to give painting figures another shot...

Figures can add an amazing sense of life and scale to any build. I will help as much as I can. :)

Yeah, speaking of that SBD, I mean A-24, I'm doing something I have never ever done. The cockpit on that old kit is less than sparse, I mean just an empty tub, that's all. Well, I'm actually painting the figures that will occupy the cockpit and fill up the empty tub. they won't look like Brindo's but after the canopy is glued on no one will really notice.

I've got the same kit in the stash too. I'm going to fix it up a bit, but I don't know how detailed I might get with it. I will probably include the figures as well.

When the time comes, Frank, I will not mind giving you some help as well. I've got all sorts of tricks and some great YouTube links to share. :)

All anyone has got to do is ask and I'll do my best to help out.  :D

Well first, that's a really sweet looking Tigershark! I really like the more accurate paint scheme you chose over the kit suggested one. That looks far better than the one I made for my son! No red nose!

This is exactly the way I was thinking of building this scheme if I ever build that kit again.

Wheels up with no pilot though? Lol that's some risky flyin' lol!

Regardless, very nicely done!!

Thanks for the kind words!  Since we picked this one up from the consignment shelf at the LHS, it was originally going to be a straight out of the box build, but I figured going for a little more accuracy in the markings wouldn't be too much extra work.  The empty cockpit does look odd with the gear up, but that's how my boy likes them hung from the ceiling.  Works for me since I'm not much for painting figures, and I can use these builds for him to practice new techniques.

Just finished this 1/48 P-40B for my son.  Tried some new techniques.  Had some issues with lighting trying to get good photos.

Stik, with the PB disaster upon us, I propose a new Volume 2 so we can start fresh, and have a new library of R-M builds.  I am just asking the question, Herr Kommandant.

WIP:  Monogram 1/72 B-26 (Snaptite) as 73rd BS B-26, 40-1408, torpedo bomber attempt on Ryujo

Monogram 1/72 B-26 (Snaptite) as 22nd BG B-26, 7-Mile Drome, New Guinea

Minicraft 1/72 B-24D as LB-30, AL-613, "Tough Boy", 28th Composite Group

Fotofrank, I look forward to seeing your builds. You sound like you'd fit right in with our Monogram Mafia IV Group Build that just started today. Go check it out in the Group Builds forum.

It seems that since I've gotten back into the hobby the stack of kits on the shelf are all Revell/Monogram. Of course, there is the nostalgia of building the kits again that I built when I was so much younger. I just started an SBD Dauntless today. It will be an Army A-24 Banshee when it's done. Last night I started an F-80 that will be a Florida ANG airplane when it's done. Now, that kit didn't exist when I was last in the hobby, 1975 or so. I have a Stearman almost finished. It's all painted, it just needs final assembly. There's a P-82 waiting for paint. It's the 1/72 scale F-82G really, but it's going to be a "what if" when it's done. There's a T-6 waiting for paint. When it's done it'll be an LT-6G "Mosquito". I do have two kits that aren't Revell/Monogram on the bench. The very first kit I started when I got back into the hobby is Tamiya's P-51D. It won't be a blue-nose Mustang though. Probably it will be a Missouri ANG Mustang. I grew up in St. Lous and saw my very first real P-51D departing Lambert-St. Louis Airport, maybe around 1962 or '63. The other kit is an Accurate Miniatures P-51C that will be Jackie Cochran's green #13 that she raced in the 1946 Bendix Trophy race. As soon as I find a place to archive pictures, I'll have stuff to post to show my progress.

I pretty much have the "building" part of the hobby going OK. It's the paint part that I'm having a tough time with. My Revell P-51D is my experimental paint platform. I botched the first attempt at painting the airplane so I decided to use it for practice. I jumped back into the hobby feet first. I decided right off to do most of my kits in "natural metal finish" with Alclad paints. Pretty steep learning curve to be sure.

Anyway, I'm really ejoying being back in the hobby! My wonderful wife is 100% supportive of me building again. I really couldn't do it without her support.

Last week I basically finished my 1/48 B-26. There is still some minor weathering and possibly a hard stand yet! It was built as B-26 B-25-MA, 41-31773, PN-O, Flak Bait, 322nd Bomb Group, 449th Bomb Squadron, 8th Air Force, On 16-October-1943 the Group was reassigned to the Ninth Air Force. The model represents Flak Bait on 18 April 1945 as she is prepared to lead the 422nd Bomb Group on a mission against Magdeburg, Germany on her 200th mission. Her first mission was in 1943, By her 200th mission , a couple of years later, she was very "weathered".
