I know what you mean Keyda. Man, that is the hardest color to paint. I still say yours in far better than anything I've ever done.

I haven't even applied any decals yet! These are smudges that seem to appeared out of nowhere. I don't know why I always have such problems with white and metallics that nobody else ever has a problem with. I can never get a decent, smooth shiny white coat of paint.

 

It's not as nice looking as it is in the photo.  It has dirt, smudges, and lint stuck in it, lol.  That didn't happen until I put the clear on it though.  I swear it was clean before I put the clear on.  It was the only time white actually worked out for me.  I usually always have issues with white paint.  I always dread painting anything white.  It didn't work out so well on the F-14 I'm working on right now.

Keyda, those are magnificent! I'd love to know how you kept your white on the C-54 so white. I'm building a C-118 and had the white perfect. When I went back agaion to add the decals I saw dirty smudges that I had no idea where they came from. I hadn't handled it so what in the world was going on? I also have a C-54 and I was hoping to do better on it than the C-118.

Your model looks great.  I think an A-7 was one of the 1st Jet models that I ever built when I was younger, and I grew up not too far from where they were building them, so I like seeing other's builds of it.

Here is the 1/72 Revell A-7A.  It is a pretty weak kit with soft moldings and very fine raised panel lines, with areas of approximate fit.  I thought I would have some fun with it, building it up with the old Revell stand, as it might have been if issued in the box scale era.  It is the Flight of the Intruder issue, and I used those decals.  It's clear to me that the person who did the instructions put a bunch of the right side markings on the left side view and vice versa, of course I did not realize that untill the decals were already in the water or on the model.  I made a decal for the stand in the style of the box scale Revell F-89D, which is the first plastic model I ever built.  In disrespect of James Ling, I used an earlier Vought Logo instead of one of the LTV days.

Nice! I have that same kit in my stash. I think I'll be pulling it out to work on as well. Looking forward to seeing your C-54 in the future.

Another Revell build finished.  1/48 A-7 Corsair.  Not the greatest kit in the world, but it will do. 

The original Monogram 1/48 Spitfire was a Mk.IX. No cockpit detail as mentioned above, and retracting landing gear. As well as raised rivet surface detail. This kit was originally released in the late 60's. The Revell mold was a Mk.II, better detailed, and released in the late 70's. Not perfect, but a big improvement. 

If it has a detailed cockpit them it's the Revell. 

The Monogram Spit had no pit detail. Only a pilot that fit to side pegs in the fuselage. Also to note were the thick one-piece canopy and the folding "click position" landing gear.

That was a "classic" Monogram kit. When Revell purchased much of the old Monogram molds that mold went into retirement as far as I know.

The Revell kit has far more detail even though it's still an older kit.

I had fun building mine.  :)

Oh, yeah that Spitty also has bad glass issues. But turns into a nice kit. Niether the 109 G10 or the Spit were ever Monogram though. Those are both pure Revell molds.

That's the Revell Bf-109G10, right? That's a challenging kit in a few ways, but that canopy glass is the worst fitting of any I've built yet.

I'd like to try building it again. They're always better when you know where the problems are.  :)

 Yeah, that's the G. A lot of putty and the canopy had it's issues. Just started the Revellogram Spit. It is much worse and haven't even got to the glass. But, hey, picked them up at my local Drugmart for $15. (along with a PT 109 for $10)

Just finished Bf 109. The pictures do not do it justice, my tablet takes better pics but refuses to upload photos. Need to get a Memory card.

Magnificent! I can only hope the one I'm working on looks half as good when it is finished. 

My latest Revell build, the F-15E Strike Eagle.  This kit went together really well.  I didn't have any major issues what so ever. 

Lol I hope the 1/48 109 is just as easy lol. My collection is still missing my favorite 109E. That needs to be rectified soon.  :)

Actually I had one of those nice experiences when I needed a 1/72 BF109. I got an Airfix kit, shook up the box, and dumped it out. It came out perfect; no modeling required!
