I've never seen anything like that. I haven't seen the movie so that might explain it.

B_1 & Karl, it's always great to see new additions here. Karl, you may notice this thread is nearly four years old, and still going strong. Love the Scooter n Tomcat!

DD, I look forward to seeing your new purchases built on here someday. I keep wondering when somebody will do the Stearman from Tora! Tora! Tora!... "I'm taking over Davey..."

Stik, there was an article in Aviation History magazine this summer about the civilian planes in the air over Honolulu December 7.

WIP:  Monogram 1/72 B-26 (Snaptite) as 73rd BS B-26, 40-1408, torpedo bomber attempt on Ryujo

Monogram 1/72 B-26 (Snaptite) as 22nd BG B-26, 7-Mile Drome, New Guinea

Minicraft 1/72 B-24D as LB-30, AL-613, "Tough Boy", 28th Composite Group

Double D, I believe the rest of the markings are spot on. Biggest differences are in the wingtip markings; I went with the ones on the box, but I painted them on instead.

Very nice, y'all!

Double D, be aware that the shadow decals for the name "Big Beautiful Doll" are probably the wrong color. Unless Revell fixed it, the shadow script is in white instead of red, as it ought to be. If you have a steady hand, your can trace over the white with a red fine tip sharpie, or paint and a fine brush.

Thanks for the info, Vol. I had never noticed that before. The decals do indeed have the white script. I'm gonna have to find my pictures of the actual plane that hangs in the Imperial War Museum in London and see if the box art is correct, or the decals. Got to visit there back in July 2006. A VERY NICE museum, to say the least. Lots of German aircraft in there, like an He-162, an Me-162, and some others that I can't recall right now.

Shoot, Stik, I had forgotten all about that part of the movie. I just might have to do mine that way. I'll have to think on that one for a while......

Looky what I bought today. Couldn't resist. Plus, there were a couple of Tamiya offerings on the shelf of the Mustang, and were reasonably priced, but I had to have The Doll. Besides, $34 for both was about the same price as one Tamiya or Hasegawa kit. I think Stik has influenced me more than I thought, which is pretty darned hard for an Army type to do to a hard-corps (I know, I know, it's supposed to be "core") Marine. Revell oughta be paying you some royalties, Stik!

Revell 1/48 F15E Strike Eagle

I built it oob. The gear decals are missing. The canopy is a bit off balanced after I move it to take pictures. It's not glued down to the plane

That's a danged nice Eagle! Well done!

Very nice build Brandon.

Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.
