Thanks for the info on the extinguisher color!  I said they were silver in my post and I can see now that I was wrong.  I knew they weren't red though so I'm glad someone corrected my "info" above.  I'm pretty sure in my last B-17, I painted them red.  I have one more in my stash and I'll be sure to paint them the correct brass or bronze color when the time comes.

While there's not a lot of headway going on, I do like what I'm seeing!  By the way, wpjets, for your first model you're doing a pretty good job!!!  Looks like you're using an air brush?  I started out hand painting everything, then went to using an air brush and I'll never go back... That said, there's a few guys on here that do hand paint everything that are awesome!

B one Fixer, all I can say is wow.  I love the detail, especially on the floor.

I'm thinking about jumping in.  My local Hastings has Revell's G model and I'm thinking about doing it OOB.  The uncle of my best friends wife flew 50 missions in a 17 in the E.T. and I was wanting to do his bird for his son.  But apparently the book he had has done a Judge Crater and disappeared.  I'm still hoping he'll find it.  Guy ended up going the entire war without so much as a scratch.  Was awarded the DSM for bringing his bird in on one engine after getting shot up.  He ended up getting sick towards the end of his first tour and got grounded.  Another pilot took his plane up and he never saw it or his crew again.  That scar he carried with him for life...  Great men...

So far I got the halves together, seams sealed up. I am currently re-scribbing the entire kit. It's a good thing it has no complicated panel lines, still though it is a chore. But in the end I think it will be worth it !

I remember reading an article/story/book about one 17 that made it back on an engine and 1/3to 1/2.  Just made it over the coast line and to a base.  Wonder if it was the same one.....

I've been managing to do a little bit without an air compressor. I used a brush to paint the B-17s. I didn't think they would look very good. but they turned out looking pretty good. I'll get some pics in a day or so and post them
