Just a small status update.My starting point for the interior.Ribs white glued in place for the moment. Roughed MW 50 tank. Now the plan has also evolved to include the fueling lines and the lines for the booster system. For that I needed to open up some panels. Thank you to those who have helped to get me to this point. Without mentioning your names I want to say that I would not have gotten this far without your help.I most likely will not get to the bench in the next couple of days. Other commitments have taken the priority at this point. I hope to have them out of the way by this coming weekend.
Now the announcement. All further updates will be posted in the 2015 Messerschmitt BF 109 Group Build.

Here we are. The eve before Christmas Eve. My present is................A finished wing. Yep. That stage is done. Well except for the light on the tip and that will not happen till later anyway. The finishing process was a gloss black coat and then Model Master Steel, a misting of Alclad Airframe Aluminum, and then Furnace tape on the leading edge. I did have to reinstall a line for the landing gear hydrolic (spelling was never my strong suit) lines. I also added just a little bit to the rudder.I used some reference pictures and fashioned a fuel tank.And I made a choice. I choose to do the following aircraft markings.Well my friends that brings that part of the build to a close. Is it perfect....not by a long shot. Blemishes are present but I am happy. Next up is to be honest something I am truly looking forward to. Tackling the interior. I have been wanting to do this since I got the kit. Well it has been two weeks. Some progress has been made. Finishing off the wing is proving to be a bit of a challenge. Every time I feel I am close I see more to do. Ahh well where it is at the moment.I have glued in the flaps and I changed the position of the spar on the fuse. It helped to straighten out the wing a touch. Still more little things to do but I have now moved forward to the next section.The tail. I wanted to show the framing of the rudder and the stabilizer. My attempts to scratch it out of styrene failed miserably. So I cheated a bit.Resin casts.The third attempt to make the casts was the winner. Not too many big airpockets and the resin set up nicely. After giving it a couple of days to harden I went to work with my drill, micro drill, files, and sand paper. The result.Next up will be to detail out the rudder and the stabilizer. I also want to tackle the landing gear. I have decided (not like I had much of a choice) to go with the kit gear. I want to make sure they are cleaned up and work with the framing.All comments, critiques, and criticism are greatly encouraged.Joe

I'm a pretty patient guy and I love doing all the detail work, but I don't think I am ready for that level of commitment just yet, yikes!!! Dude, you did an amazing job on that scratch built wing. Totally in awe of your skills. Stunning work my man!!!
Well time to show the progress to this point.Wing construction, at least the major framework and such, is done. Two months of build it up and then tear it down is finished. Pictures.And now the overall.On the overall I can live with this. There is some work to be done yet. I have some of the frames to straighten and some clean up as well as finishing off the small details. I am certifiable. Two months on this wing. Wow, that looks great.....
Productive day on the 1:24 109. Well it began last night with a start on the Wing Radiator. Then today I went through to try to get the radiator in the right spot, success. I then pulled it all together and thought why not, mock it up, see what it looks like. Well.............here it is..............The wing radiator..I ran into an issue with the well that the landing gear goes into. I had to redo it a bit.And now the way the wing looks at this point. It is not glued in but it is pretty stable.All comments, critiques, and criticism are encouraged.Joe
