Looks Great - thanks for sharing! Just curious - were you able to find a Gunze color that worked out of the bottle for that green? And was the H72 Dark Earth out of the bottle as well?

I didn't think any paint brands made colors that hit this scheme so beautifully - looks absolutely spot on! Can't wait to see what decals you pick for it!

The sponge is a clever way about it! =]  I've been using a very thinned out Flat Aluminum from Tamiya.  I might have to give this a try.

How's the rest of your build coming?  Almost done?

My goodness, this is gorgeous.  Personally, I am tires of seeing the shark mouth; Texas Longhorn has always been one of my favorites.

How did you simulate the chipping, and what did you use to was the interior.  Also, how did you weather the spinner?  It just looks so good,

I use the post-shading.

The spinner painted with H-73 Dark Green from Gunze. Did after two mixtures. H-73 with yellow and H-73 with black. After I applied lights and shadows, one wash with Dark Wash the Mig. For shipping I used Silver X-11 Tamiya applied with a sponge.

The interiors were painted with Gunze H-80. For the chipping I used XF-04 Yellow Green and then the X-11 Silver also applied with a sponge. Applied then a wash with Dark Wash MIG.

Looks fantastic.  I've built several 1/48 Hasegawa P-40s and I feel your pain on their inserts.  It wouldn't be so bad if they actually fit right.  Tamiya seems to be the only ones to do this successfully.  I just wish that if they were going to go through all that trouble, at least "insert" us a P-40 B somehow.

I'm working on a Academy  1'48  P-40 now and mine is junk compared to yours.

I painted the Dark Hearth. I used the H-72 of Gunze.

For vertical stems used the same paint (H-72) and painted at the same time.

I used the metal parts from HK and tape Tamiya. Painted with XF-55 Tamiya.

Must be the worst model of Hasegawa in 1/32 I've ever built. The old problem of the Hasegawa, with one mold, try to make different versions. The same applies to the model in 1/48 scale. I've also built one.

A fuselage that seems a lot of patchwork where they will fit the pieces for the different versions with a dubious fit.

Another piece, more putty, more sanding.

Here the windscreen with a 'frame' that does not exist. After sanding a bath with glossy varnish.

Finally started the weathering in Azure Blue. Lights and shadows.

Here already with the wells of landing gear painted.

Now I can only wait for the arrival of Eduard mask to continue with the model.

Excellent job with the painting and weathering!! =D That's superb.  Even the chipping looks quite convincing.  I find people often can't get the paint chipping to be small enough for the scale they're working on.  This is a great example of everything working well together.  

Can't wait to see her finished. =]

Then completed the landing gear ...

and the propeller.
