To Patrick206,

Wow, you humble me.  Thanks for the glowing compliments.  I am extremely happy with this build, yet I have so much more to learn and that keeps me overjoyed with enthusiasm.

Looks great Toshi, sorry I kind of fell out of the thread for a day or two. Had some bad storms and knocked out power / interwebs for a while.

Miss a day miss a model... LOL

I absolutely adore the A10. I am so glad to see you painted it something other that all grey. It's refreshing to see one in camo. Great work on this bird.

Man, your A-10 looks amazing!

You did the camo FREE HAND ?   Your artistic ability and courage shines on this one.  I have not yet found the guts to attempt a freehand camo with the AB, but your results tempt me to try it. Very cool.

You know Jay Jay?  So was I, I was very apprehensive in approaching such a technique at my level.  If I may share my thoughts with you, I had a back up plan, I could re-shoot the camouflage or re-shoot the A-10 in gray.  That's what's cool about AB or a rattle can.  You can always go back to re-do the job if you don't like it.  Also, I figured that I'll never know if I can attempt to achieve this goal or not unless I do execute the process.  At least that's what was going through my mind, you'll do much better than I from what I've seen from your A-26 Invader cockpit, now that is awesome sir!

WOW! Very nice airbrushing Toshi. Where in the wide wide world of sports did you pull that skill from? You seem to be taking to that AB like you've been using it all your life. I too am not real savy with the whole free hand thing. I guess I just love my Silly Putty too much. Your A-10 is really looking terrific.

To JOE RIX,

Wide, Wide, World of Sports!  That brings back fond memories.  I mentioned to Mr. Jay Jay, I figured if I screw it up, I can always re-shoot the A-10.  No skills there!  LOL!  Just pure ignorance.  LOL!!!

To my fellow forum members,

I've always been a big fan of the F4U-Corsair.  One of the first threads that impressed me was written by M.Brindos of his completed Corsair.  As much as I was enamored over his build, what truly inspired me was the fact that he did not like the way he AB the Corsair, so he started over and AB the Corsair again.  Let me tell you, I was totally blown away not only by his determination, but it was his pursuit of excellence.  May I add that this same excellence is upheld in every ones build on this forum.  I'm still a novice, but I'm following every ones lead.

With that same vigor, I assumed that the A-10 build will be hopefully decent to be presented in this find forum of FSM.  Being that I've never really built a modern day fighter (I built three at the age of ten) I approached this build blindedly.  I'm actually blind in my right eye since my accident but Mrs. Toshi said that's BS.  I'm just getting to be an old man!  LOL!

So here is the completed A-10 Thunderbolt II "Warthog".

Thank you very much,

Toshi

To JOE RIX,

Thank you, I will work on the Metal Earth kits.  I want to work on the Tamiya 1:32 Mitsubishi Zero but I'm in the process of purchasing Tamiya paints for the zero.  I should get my paints by next week.

Mrs. Toshi got me a stand in the den, she also allowed me to hang the planes in the den ONLY!  LOL.

Thanks for the compliments and the visit.

My head is still spinning from how fast you finished this, Toshi. Time Smile

Really nice work on your A-10. Like our friends above, I am impressed with your freehand camo. And your skill definitely are improving greatly with every week.

I'm curious about that nose art. Where did you come up with the bunny? A decal included with the kit???

To Mustang1989 and Jay Jay,

This is the collection so far, as I continue, I'll figure things out.  Maybe I'll donate my planes to those with my same type of issues.  There's always a way.

I really won't miss them, I'll have each build shared with my FSM forum family members.  You can't get any better than that.

To Greg,

Thank you for the compliment on the free hand camouflage motif.  I know where I can improve on that design.  I need to drop my AB PSI more and get closer while utilizing more of a curvature in the different camouflage colors.  I would not have known this without the support and inspiration given to me via this forum and forum members.  It's you and all forum members that teaches me my next steps into future builds.

As for Mr. Playboy Bunny, I pulled him out of a hat and threw some decal solvent to make sure he stayed on the nose of the A-10.  I wish there were real playboy bunnies as well!  Shhh.  Don't tell Mrs. Toshi.  LOL!!!

That decal actually came with the kit, this entire build is exclusively OOB.  Sir, thank you for following and replying on my builds.  Especially the encouraging words.

Pulled the bunny out of the hat. Ha, that's funny Toshi. :)

Ok, I didn't see the bunny decal on the decal instruction instruction page you posted a few pages back. With you surprising us with new skills daily, if you said you hand-painted the nose art I was going to throw up my arms in surrender.  Stick out tongue

To BrandonK,

Yes, I felt the same way, plus I thought I'd try my hand at AB without any use of a stencil.

If I painted the bunny, I would be on the FSM Magazine on a monthly "How to Do" column.  LOL!!  Here's the schematic,
