Fantastic work.

Great job on the rigging. I have to ask about the turnbuckles. Did you make those yourself? If so then how and out of what? I only ask because I bought some from Bob's Buckles in 32 scale and those were difficult to work with given their size. In 48 scale, yikes! And I have this kit in my stash.

Aggie, yes I made them pretty much the same way Bob does. The eyelets are UTC Ultra Wire for fly tying. It's the small (SM) size that's .006". I made a little hook out of some stiff .010 wire and twisted the eyelets with a pinvise. These fit into a #80 bit hole. The turnbuckles are .5mm AL tubing. A bit over scale but the thread used for the rigging just fit in the .4mm tubing cuz it's king of flat. Technically the size is good but not being a monofilament made it too hard the get it in that smaller tube with fraying.

The rigging thread, also for fly tying is Uni-Thread.

A tip on cutting the tubing. Roll it under a sharp hobby knife blade lightly to just score the tube. Then snap the piece off with tweezers. If you cut it off with the knife the end of the tube closes up a lot.

Marc, that is one sweet, sweet Stearman. I have two in the stash and your build is a real inspiration.

A couple of things that stood out to me - your engine and prop (nice little detail using the aluminum tube on the prop hub!), and that amazing choice of paint job. The gray and yellow Navy birds aren't all that common, but damn if it isn't a cool color scheme.

I masked and sprayed markings for the first time on my most recent build, and I'm hooked on it, too. I don't suppose those masks you used are available for purchase anywhere?

Again, you've done really, really nice work on this.
