You did a fine job on this kit Toshi. I can only hope that I'll be able to do half as well on my first 1/32 kit - whatever it is.

May all the strings that hold together sub-atomic particles come together in the most life affirming manner to allow you and Mrs. Toshi to enjoy many, many more years of mutual love and friendship.

OT, I can relate to how much a PITA it is to go through radiation therapy and chemo. I had both the summer after my operation to remove some cancer from my right leg and they put quite a damper on my hiking that season. I did, however, climb Mt. St. Helens the next summer. Still hiking when weather permits.

ManCityFan

Hey Toshi, just got to see the finished pics.  You did a great job on this kit.  I like the idea of it being a museum piece as a change of pace.  You nailed it!  I am still jealous of your decal skills.  Yours always look flawless.

Sounds like Mrs. Toshi is improving, although the chemo can be rough depending on how she reacts to it.  Please send her my best wishes.

D

Thank you ManCityFan.  I tried to do my best, of my abilities in building this kit, unfortunately through clumsiness and stupidity, I broke one of the wings off.  With great patience, CA, some serious curse words, and a pound of Tamiya putty lol, I was able to at the very least depict the Corsair with one wing up and one wing down.  I think this is a very incorrect depiction as I've never seen a photo of such, but that's the best I could come up with.

I too really and truly enjoyed depicting this Corsair build as one that is a static museum display piece as you so described.  Not only was it a nice change of pace but it was very difficult to do so.  At least with a weathered aircraft, you have some leeway to make a smidgen of a smudge here or there and yet be able to blend it in.  I didn't realize the gravity of doing a almost perfect gloss paint job.  This was a great challenge especially in Model Master Insignia Blue #4742.  It was very very unforgiving at best.  As for my decals, thank you for such kind words.  I still feel I have a long way to go in that department.

Mrs. Toshi is getting stronger each day and is very motivated and staying positive each and everyday.  Her first radiation consultation is on October 2. The doctors will then schedule the actual radiation treatment and chemotherapy thereafter.  We can only take this one day at a time as we've never have done anything like this before.  Thank you very much for your support in not only in my builds but especially in Mrs. Toshi's well being.

Beautiful, Toshi. I love Corsairs. Well done!

Thank you BrandonK!  Yes, I have to agree with you, aren't Corsairs one of the greatest aircraft of WWII.  Thank you so very much for your support in my builds.

Thank you very much Uncle Jay Jay!  I'm glad you like the gloss finish.  I was trying to depict a static museum model with this particular build.  The majority of my finished kits are weathered in one way or another.

Your very kind Uncle Jay Jay for your prayers for a quick and complete recovery for Mrs. Toshi, it's extremely appreciated!

Thank you so very much for your kind words 1943Mike!  I'm more than confident in your skills in building a 1/32 kit; "Whatever it is" ten fold better than what I produced here.  You've been building kits for a lot longer time than I have hence your experience far surpasses mines.

It is with the upmost positive outlook that Mrs. Toshi and I will pull through this hurdle and that we will spend a many more years together as you so eloquently provided.  Thank you sir!

I did not know that you went through the same treatment that Mrs. Toshi is going to have.  You're an inspiration in that sense.  Going through the radiation and chemotherapy only to climb Mt. St. Helens a year later is an amazing feat in of itself.  You bring us a sense of well being and of hope, thank you so very much 1943 Mike!

Hey Toshi, another great build for the books, well done.

You have done a great job of bringing the Corsair to life, just wish I could get motivated to push my variant over the line.

All the best.

Another well done build, Toshi! I need to do another Corsair. The Revell I did years ago needs replaced on The Shelf of Shame.

Best wishes and good health to you and the Mrs. I can't think of anybody who deserves it more than you and your family.

Thank you so very much for the kind words, you humble me damouav!  I tried to do my Corsair justice with a little variation you don't see very often.  Folded wings.  I unfortunately out of carelessness and stupidity on my part, ended up breaking one of my folded wings off of which I so painstakingly assembled.  It was a tedious process yet very fulfilling until I broke it off.  lol!

Hence the one wing folded only.  The kit actually had eight rockets, four on each wings of which was highly detailed that I wanted to assemble and add onto the wings.  But due to the issues I had with the wings or I should say bad luck, I didn't want to try to glue the rockets on the wings only to break them off again.  Let me tell you I tried a dry fitting and the tolerances were so tight I told myself that I'll be pushing my luck!  lol!  Oh well, you try and live another day!  Thank you damouav for supporting my WIP threads.  I am forever grateful for this kindness.

Another well done build, Toshi! I need to do another Corsair. The Revell I did years ago needs replaced on The Shelf of Shame.

Best wishes and good health to you and the Mrs. I can't think of anybody who deserves it more than you and your family.

Thank you so very much DasBeav for the very kind words!  I'm very positive that the Revell Corsair you built needs not to be replaced and is not on any "Shelf of Shame".  Your builds are amazing sir!  But, as many FSM Forum members have informed me; "You can never have enough Corsairs to build!"  lol!  I think this is so true as I have six Corsairs as I am writing this and would very much like to add a seventh Corsair as Tamiya has just released a new F4U-1D 1/32 Corsair!

Im very excited about building this but at this time as it's a new offering, and the cost is high.  Hence I shall wait a few years and wait till the price drops before I make this purchase of the Tamiya 1/32 F4U-1D Corsair.  Until then, there are many more WWII and modern day aircraft to purchase and assemble!  lol!

DasBeav, thank you so very much sir for the best wishes and good health to Mrs. Toshi and I.  I am so forever grateful and indebted to you and your wonderful family for this!

Yes, it's very awesome in fact.  Mrs.Toshi got over the Big hump now she's on her road to recovery with radiation and chemotherapy.

Toshi,

This is a nice addition to your Corsair collection.  The gloss blue makes it look like it belongs at an airshow.

I too may go ahead and get the new Tamiya kit if the price comes down.  Like either of us needs another 1/32 Corsair.  I currently have two taking up shelf space.

Thank you scottrc! It is another great addition to my Corsair collection.  That's exactly what I wanted to convey with this build.  Either a static museum piece or an air show Corsair.

Yes, we both should purchase the Tamiya 1/32 Corsair when the price point goes down.  As you said; "You can never have enough Corsairs!"  lol!

Thank you scottrc for always supporting my builds.  You're a great friend!

Thank you so very much plasticjunkie.  If the Corsair wing was not folded, it would take up quite a bit of space!  lol!  Mrs. Toshi is doing fantastic and getting better each day, thank you for the inquire.
