Wow Toshi, you've really gotten good at this hobby, as they say "you Sir have arrived ".  The gloss coat looks fabulous.

Thank you Uncle Jay Jay.  Your words are too kind.  I’m most humbel.  I don’t know if I’ve arrived just yet.  I still feel I have much to gain yet I’ll be studying FSM Forum Members builds to get better and aquire their technique!  As for the gloss coat, I utilized Testors Clear Lacquer Spray Can.

M. Brindos

So how did those canopy parts fit? It's hard to see from the pictures.

No problems at all.  They fit perfectly with no gaps or any issues at all.  It pays to purchase the original 1974 edition kit.  Thanks for asking!

MrStecks

Toshi, sorry I've missed quite a few updates on this build but man is this looking good.  Love all the resin upgrades you've put on her, especially the resin cowls and engines.  Great work so far, and looking forward to seeing the rest!

Cheers, Mark

Not to worry about missing any updates, no apologies needed.  We’re all busy with our lives, I want to thank you very much for taking the time out of your busy scheduled day to read and reply as such.  Your words are too kind, I’m most humbled.

Yes, I agree with you, the resin cowl and engine look good.  It took some time to do the engines as a whole.  But in the end, it was extremely gratifying.  I think I should be done by the end of next week.  Everything is going as planed.

Thank you MrStecks for taking the time out and having this repoire with you.  I most enjoy our conversations with you sir!

ManCityFan

Hey Toshi, you are zipping right along with this build.  Looks like you are having a lot of fun.  You are very handy with that PE.  Have not had the pleasure yet.  You make it look easy.  Somehow, I doubt it is.

Looking forward to more,

Your Friend,

D

Mr. ManCityFan,

How have you been?  Fine I hope.  Yes, I am zipping right along this build as it’s very familiar to me.  I am having tons of fun building this kit.  The PE looks like I’m handy but, it’s really not.  It can be a challenge in finding the PE parts then to assemble some of them, a PITA!  But it’s very rewarding when complete.  This kit has quite the PE parts to add on.  I’ll be showing more in the upcoming threads/posts.  Thank‘s D‘man for the support and the read and replies.  I greatly appreciate our conversations!

I have to assemble each piston two pushrods.  This will take a while.

Here is the difference in the resin cowling and the OOB cowling.  As you can see, the resin cowling has a slightly higher stance with more detail.

GMorrison

Hi Toshi,

Real pro job there. I like your clean organized bench, must be habits learned as a chef.

Some of the earlier pictures show the nose gear sticking straight down, but in the last couple it's hard to tell because the bird is flipped upside down.

The real deal has a very characteristic forward slant of it's nose gear, like so:

You'll want to check on that.

Thank you GMorrison.  Yes, when I was a Chef, I kept everything in order.  Hence my bench.

As for the nose gear, on my build there is a slight slant already built into my kit as you can see.  So this is the correct stance.  Thank you GMorrison for the heads up, it worked out great.

Toshi
