Yes, you’re correct in that but due to it‘s size, there’s several steps needed for completion.  Thank you Model Maniac for your support.

Caught the flu so I’ve been out for awhile.  I’m still not 100% yet but I’ve been wanting to start on the Fortress build.  Here’s what I have for now.

Hello Toshi,

Just checking in...looks like good progress.  I can get a better sense of the scale of your model with it sitting on that Tamiya workstand.  It's going to get real big when you put the wings on Smile

BTW, I went to my LHS and I saw the mongo B-29 on the top shelf.  I thought it was out of production.  I guess they started it up again.  Anyway, when I saw it I thought of you.

Keep up the good work.

Mark

Just keep picking away at it...

Toshi, this is the same kit that my kids and I built a couple years ago. We hand painted it in aluminum. Yours is definitely looking better.  Mike

Get well, Toshi!  For flus, I get as much sleep as I can, and I drink a lot of hot, strong, black tea with honey.  Green tea, if I feel nauseous.

Here in the East Coast, we're hunkered down with the cold.  I've moved my painting things from my bench in the basement, up to the kitchen table.  It's just a little too cool in the cellar.

Thank you mmthrax.  Yah, I started to take photo pics that way for a sense of scale.  A fellow forum member (I can’t remember whom) mentioned if I can do that for scale a few years ago.  So I just continue to do that plus it helps with my misc. model kit paraphenilia like paint bottles to help with scale in the back ground.

I too thought that the B-29 was out of production.  That is good news!  I wonder if the B-52 another monstrosity, is in production as well? Then again, maybe the LHS got it off of eBay or Amazon? Thank you so very much for your support in my projects.  I’m most humbled.

Wow, that is a cool photo of the B-17G also since you built it with your kids.  I’m waiting for my 18 month old grandson to get big enough to build kits with.  I still have several years to wait for that.  lol!

The B-17G looks amazing in aluminum.  It must have taken several bottles of paint to do that.  lol!  I’m almost done with my OD paint bottle of which is a Model Master brand paint, I figured two and a half bottles at best, since the Model Master is a large glass container.  Thank you for sharing the B-17G pic as well as your read and reply.

Thank you the Baron.  Yes, I try to get as much sleep as possible, Mrs. Toshi scolded me for being back on the bench!  lol!  So I’ll stop for a couple of days and get back into building the B-17G on Saturday or Sunday. I’m glad you did that, it must be cold to be down your basement but moving your projects up stairs is a great solution to this bitter cold.

It was 9 degrees here in NE Ohio with a wind chill temp below zero.  This is too cold for January.  I want to thank you for your support in my builds.

Thank you philo426.  Yes, it is, the kit fueselauge did not need any putty at all.  And you are correct in that the clear plastic parts fit without any issues and or concerns.

Can you post your finished B-17G here on my thread to share with our fellow forum members?  I know I’d definately like to see it!  If not, it’s no problem at all.  Thank you so much for your support and conversation, it’s greatly appreciate it!

This is the right wing attached with no gaps nor no glue utilized.  It literally snapped into place.

I will post pics when I can access a laptop with a mouse (cant cut and paste from post image with my tablet.)My kit must have been one of the better ones as the clear parts fit very well, especially the right and keft waist gun positions.

Toshi, Route62 and I were over at New Smyrna Beach airport today to see the B-17G "909" and the B-24J "Witchcraft."

Now I want to build the 1/48 scale kit of "909"...

Your build is coming along so good.

OK. In the stash: Way too much to build in one lifetime...
