crown r n7

Moving a long looks most impressive.

Thank you crown r n7!  I broke my gunsight so I had to make a new one from scraps.  Overall it came out ok.

Weathering in the office looks really good, well broken in. Can’t wait to see the mottling you do. I’ve never tried it before, always chickened out and picked another scheme lol

In the pattern: Scale Shipyard's 1/48 Balao Class Sub! leaning out the list...NOT! Ha, added to it again - Viper MkVii, 1/32 THUD & F-15J plus a weekend madness build!

Thank you TheMongoose!  The most challenging mottle I’ve done was on a Ki-61 Tony.  The entire plane was covered from prop to tail.  Thanks for the interest!

This engine assembly is much more complicated and has more smaller parts then the Tamiya 1/32 series of aircraft.  ie: Mustang, Corsair, Zero, Spitfire, etc.

Mopar Madness

The drilled out exhaust looks great!

Thank you Mopar Madness!  The job itself was tedious at best.  I lost an exhaust and couldn’t find it until I looked by my work station and the there it was in a little nook and cranny.  lol!  Thank you for checking in with me.

As always with your fine builds,I'll be folowing this one too. I haven't been at the bench in way too long . As you know i work security at the Daytona Speedway and these are our busiest times there. I work 12 hour night shifts so there's hardly time to eat and sleep let alone do some modeling and boy do I miss it.

Once again, thank you so very much for such kind words DMan!  Yes, it is.  This kit is amazing with so many tiny parts that make up a section of this aircraft.

As I continue to build this kit, it looks complicated of which is fun!  I just need to be careful in each step.  Thank’s for stopping by!

Thank you Uncle Jay Jay.  You’re taking personal time out to check in with me is awesome.  I’m most honored and humbled.

It must be tiring after a third shift twelve hour nights.  I can understand and relate to your situation.  Time becomes very valuable, and time on the bench becomes less.  As you mentioned; “Boy do I miss it.”

I hope to hear from you on this thread as I assemble the Me 109.  Thank you Uncle Jay Jay for your support.

I originally was going to close up the entire Me 109.  But as you can see, this is just a dry fit.  Everything went together without any issues and or concerns.  The following of this kit of which is a plus is: viewable Engine, went together like a Tamiya kit, detailed cockpit, etc.

Thank you for following this thread, it’s greatly appreciated!

Getting ready to close “Gustav” up.  I’m removing the center engine cowling support bar so that I can show off the engine as a whole.  I’m going to expose the entire engine, that way when Mrs. Toshi and I view the final product we can enjoy the hard work I put into it.

Thank you FSM Forum Members for following this build and all of the past builds not to exclude any future builds.  I am so greatfull and humbled that I have so many FSM friends following my builds.

These photos depict the Me bf109 G6 with the seams all taken care of.  As you’ve all seen in previous photos, very little if not no putty was used.  I like Tamiya White putty because it’s Lacquer based and dries quickly.  It also sands easy.  If thinning out is needed then a little Lacquer is all you need to add.  I have yet to add Lacquer as I’m very satisfied and happy with it‘s concistency.  Every modeler has their preference on what we like to use, this is what I enjoy working with and I’d figure that’s what counts in a hobby.  Having fun and enjoying your build time and I’m having one helluva time!  lol!

The horizontal and vertical stabilizers were adjusted a tad bit to show that it can move on this kit.  Just a little pose.  lol!  It makes it look interesting in my humble opinion.  I did it because I thought it looked cool.  Right now I’m taking a break from the bench to post this and then I’ll be working on the next step of which is the main wing assembly.  I’m get to work all day on this kit as my grandson Ezra is in Columbus, Ohio with his other grandparents.  So this is a nice break from having to watch him although Mrs. Toshi and I miss him so much.

Looks like you've got a great little helper!  Nice progress on the 109.  It's always a good feeling getting the fuselage halves together and filled.  Like the race if half done.
