Don't know how I missed out on this one, but looking very nice.  Another Toshi build, nothing to nit-pick, well done my friend.

Glad you both are getting back up to speed, health wise.  Been a long hard road for you both.

To my fellow forum sisters and brothers,

I’ve been in bed with walking pneumonia for the last two weeks.  I’m feeling much better now!

Here is the decal stage is.  As you can see the photos below, I could only get a gloss coat on for the decals.  I did attach four decals but I stopped because Mrs. Toshi said; “I should be resting in bed and forget Models for a few more days”. lol!  lol!  You know how we modelers try to get some bench time in.

Nice to see you work on a new plane! 275 parts is a lot for 1:48 warplane of any era. Up to this point you've done so well. I believe you'll finish it in this month.

Slow and sure.  That’s how this build is going.  I got some of the mottle on and I haven’t attached the wheels yet.

Here is Mr. Gustav wearing a coat of Tamiya Gray Lacquer Primer.  It was shot with a Iwata Eclipse HP-CS.

Nice freehand canopy masking there, Toshi.

Thank you Greg.  I wanted to do this kit completely out of the box.  Thank’s for the visit!

What color Scheme are you going for RLM 74/75/76?

I haven‘t decided yet.  I do want to follow the box art and the paint scheme on the color fold out.  But I ran out of paint and I need to go to Hobby Lobby to purchase some, either Vallejo or Model Master paints.  I go to Hobby Lobby as they are in Macedonia, Ohio only twenty five minutes away from my home.

I always go with Mrs. Toshi and we both make use of the forty percent discount.  That discount helps out a lot.  In summation, whichever paint brand that has the availability of RLM 74/75/76 will determine what paint scheme I’ll choose.  Then again, I can also mix my own colors to get close to the RLM codes and go from there.  crown r n7, thank you for inquiring and creating this conversation with me.

Your friend, Toshi

I wanted to add that I’ve already done a Me bf109 G4 in RLM 78/79/80.  This was also a Trumpeter 1/32 kit.  What’s interesting is that I broke both landing gears off when I dropped it (Stupid me) and had to do a in-flight design on that kit.

Recently I looked at that kit as reference and noticed both cannons were missing as well as the canopy.  So I’m going to trash that G4 kit in RLM 78/79/80 and as you inquired very possibly use the RLM 74/75/76.

Mopar Madness

Looks like you've got a great little helper!  Nice progress on the 109.  It's always a good feeling getting the fuselage halves together and filled.  Like the race if half done.

Yes, he’s so good as a helper, Mrs. Toshi and I have a gate from preventing him in getting into the bench area.  lol!  Once he got in and the first thing he grabbed was my most expensive item.  Iwata Eclipse!  lol!  He knew what to touch.  Yes, it definately feels like half the race is done.  But there’s still a lot to do.  Thank you Mopar Madness for everything i really appreciated!

Just checking on you as I do occasionally! The project is looking good as usual I see! Keep up the good work my friend----Max

Thank you Hodakamax for checking in with me!  Yes, this build is going really well and I’m having a great time with this kit.  Everything falls together just like a Tamiya kit.  I can highly recommend this kit.  Once again, thanks for the visit as well as the read and reply!

These photos depict the Me bf109 G6 with the seams all taken care of.  As you’ve all seen in previous photos, very little if not no putty was used.  I like Tamiya White putty because it’s Lacquer based and dries quickly.  It also sands easy.  If thinning out is needed then a little Lacquer is all you need to add.  I have yet to add Lacquer as I’m very satisfied and happy with it‘s concistency.  Every modeler has their preference on what we like to use, this is what I enjoy working with and I’d figure that’s what counts in a hobby.  Having fun and enjoying your build time and I’m having one helluva time!  lol!

The horizontal and vertical stabilizers were adjusted a tad bit to show that it can move on this kit.  Just a little pose.  lol!  It makes it look interesting in my humble opinion.  I did it because I thought it looked cool.  Right now I’m taking a break from the bench to post this and then I’ll be working on the next step of which is the main wing assembly.  I’m get to work all day on this kit as my grandson Ezra is in Columbus, Ohio with his other grandparents.  So this is a nice break from having to watch him although Mrs. Toshi and I miss him so much.

Getting ready to close “Gustav” up.  I’m removing the center engine cowling support bar so that I can show off the engine as a whole.  I’m going to expose the entire engine, that way when Mrs. Toshi and I view the final product we can enjoy the hard work I put into it.

Thank you FSM Forum Members for following this build and all of the past builds not to exclude any future builds.  I am so greatfull and humbled that I have so many FSM friends following my builds.

I originally was going to close up the entire Me 109.  But as you can see, this is just a dry fit.  Everything went together without any issues and or concerns.  The following of this kit of which is a plus is: viewable Engine, went together like a Tamiya kit, detailed cockpit, etc.

Thank you for following this thread, it’s greatly appreciated!
