Stick and tissue Eindekker scratch build.

Well I has been an interesting project and since I have over 1600 views,you FSM formites agree even if you refrain from posting.Despite its flaws ,I like the fact that I can take a plan,some flat basswood sheets ,sticks,and the sort of tissue that you stuff into gift bags and make something that did not exist before I made it!Proof of concept discoveries include the effective use of plastic stencils to airbrush the markings and the addition of a simulated Rotary Engine.Good thing I have a. extensive parts srash,but it still took several hours to figure out how to make the engine rotate with the prop.I was surprised how tight the tissue became on the lower wings and fuselage.Pretty durable despite extensive handling during constructionlIvery cool ceiling hanger!Thanks for viewing this fascinating project!As always comments are welcome!

Finished it up and hung it fro. the ceiling.

Added the top wing warp wire mount and installed the machine gun.  

Made the machine gun out if aluminum tubing and plastic.  

Ok I decided to use one of those Lipo stick batteries to power the motor and wired in a mini switch .Surprised how powerful that thin battery is Added the tail too!  

Since the larger cowling was necessary to accommodate the rotating engine and the necessity of mounting it higher on the fuselage,it no longer really looks like an Eindekker.Last minute decisions to make it a Rotary and insufficient planning for same compromised the profile.Therefore I will have to raise the cockpit area to make it at least practical.Since weight was not an issue on a non flying model.I used brass bar Stock to make the landing gear and lower wing warp wire mount.The wheels are temporary until I can find more authentic replacements.  

I painted it semi gloss black to impart the look of aluminium rather than bright chrome.The finish looks like metal.  

Due to the addition of the rotary engine,It was necessary to construct a new larger cowling.I will spray it with Alclad.    

Yeah the prop bit the air and torqued it into the wires leading to the MRC Control Master two I used as a power source struck and the prop flew off!

 Engne looks good and really amazing when running. Video looked great until the prop decided to fly away on its own.

Okay!I mounted the engine on to the fuselage ,my first inclination was to mount the engine to the fire wall ,but I decided to try to make it a true rotary engine.I found a part from a Lionel stream shovel kit that was the perfect width and even allowed for landing gear mounting.I modified the part to allow the motor to be mounted up with a steel bracket that I made.The motir has a brass pinion fear gear that would be difficult to remove,so I modified a wheel from the AMT 57 Chevy kit to be used as a drive coupling for the brass tube that holds the engine and prop.Too heavy to fly,it will be a cool ceiling hanger.I need a larger cowling for when the motor is activated.I made a YouTube vid of it that I will try to paste below.Otherwise I will post a still.   https://youtu.be/IGKMmJYWgBY

Wow!The 190 looks great!Very impressive!

I'll add the antenae wire after the flight glitches are sorted out! The plastic cowl is removeable, attached with small magnets. It was a nice, relaxing build, might have to do another one some day. The new laser cut wood is awesome! And thanks for the invitation to post, Philo

Philo, I would love to post pics of my builds. I'm in the same boat as T.B. was since the photobucket fiasco. Soon as I find a site that I can work with, I'll start posting again. Being completely computer illiterate as I am it's not easy. Will post pics as soon as I can.

Post a pic of the 190Paladin if you want!I would like to see it!I remember making a Guillows Stuka in the late seventies that I painted with the old Pactra International Colors,looked great but it never flew well probably because the paint made it too heavy.

a Yes this one is too heavy to fly but will make an interesting ceiling hanger.Added the push rods and put on a black wash.  

The stencils turned out nice. Never had much luck painting mine. I just painted the 190 I've been working on, looks ok, but really added some weight. I'm afraid to put her on the scale! But she does glide. Just need a dry day here. 

Post pics of the Spad Fox,if you want!Ok I need an engine so I found a 1/32 seven cylinder crankcase in my spares stash.The diameter of the cylinders would not fill the cowling so I sleeved them with aluminum tubing and wrapped them with 22 gauge wire.I will add push rods later.    

  You are tempting me to pull some of mine out of the pile and start on them. I have a Spad all finished except the covering. I sprayed all the parts with flat black so that whatever color I used for the covering would have the ribs and formers showing through but never covered it because it looks so good without it.
