 As it turns out the Arts and Crafts store in town started selling models after the LHS closed down. I got my PL 1/350 Enterprise Refit there.

I'm eyeing the Revell 1/48 scale FA/18F they have there and it is a freakishly huge box too!

First, a belated thanks for your great Memorial Day tribute (I've not been on finescale.com in a while, as you can see).

The new engine really pops when you put on the pushrods and drybrush the cylinders! What size pin vise bits did you use to drill those tiny holes?

I have just recently discovered these posts and read each and every page.  That was a few hours burned! :)  Incredible work Chukw!  I have just recently returned to the hobby and you have inspired me beyond words.  I look forward to seeing this build through.

 Does anyone know any Arts and Crafts stores in the Greensboro, NC area.  All we have that I have found is Hobby Lobby and Michaels.  These fulfill my needs to a minimum, however I find myself ordering materials online in order to get what I need.  Thanks Guys!

 Chukw...are you using Acrylics to paint a majority of the build?  I am curious to know what is the best to choose from?  Enamel, Acrylics, or Lacquers.  Do you use a Primer as well?  Sorry for all of the questions...

Last weekend was my wife's birthday, so we took a trip up to Seattle to visit with her brother.  My wife is the best ever, and supports me at every turn- nothing's to good for her!   :wub: A good time was had by all, and I'm back with the latest report this week.

May i be the 1st to congratulate you on this latest installment. The engine is just sublime. It will look simply awesome when fitted. Wheel wells are looking sweet as well. Top marx once again fella. Wheres the next update. Were all slavvering here.

Just pored (and poured, it's HOT here in CT!) over the newest installment again. I want this A/C finished......but I don't want it to finish at the same time!

That motor.........that motor................a complete build in itself! It makes one go back a few pages and revisit the many separate models that make up this build......and the thrill only builds!

But GP Abe is looking a bit sooty! He needs a rubdown after his bout with the engine cavity! 

Eh.....wellllllllll stabbed myself in the finger with a #11......so I thought it time to read......or reread! Curious chukw......knowing nothing about PE and it's application.....in the recent wheel well pics, it appears that some brass(?) color is showing on some edges of the PE.

Is this just me......or is it a purposeful thing............or am I blind.....o_O 

Thanks, chuk, you're SBS is amazing, truly amazing!  The engine looks fantastic, and if I didn't know that this is a 1/48th model, I'd think that that is a large-scale model of the engine.

My hat is off to you, really, for the super attention to the details.  There are so many things going on, it'll take a while to analyze it for the lessons.

One tip I picked up from this latest installment, is that I have to get Mr Surfacer.  Up to now, I've used Squadron putty.  I often thin it with acetone and brush it on, but it's still so thick as to require sanding to remove the excess.  That means more scribing, to restore lost detail.  But your up-close shots make it Mr Surfacer look comparatively easier, with a cleaner result.

Waiting eagerly now for the next installment...

 Check these pics, Nam- it was just a reflection.  No kids here- just my bulldog, Dynamite.  She and my wife took me to the beach for breakfast today. 

 Baron, you can wipe uncured Squadron putty away with acetone-based nail polish remover just like with Mr Surfacer- but Mr S is much finer grained.

The hydraulic lines look as if they would bleed if cut! Very nice!
