Another great one Chuck, The pic of the canopy wind deflector caught my eye as the masking looks absolutely perfect. Not a mark to be seen...Even at such close resolution. Awesome.

Has anyone else noticed how any tiny defect in chukw's work only shows under the microscopic intensity of his photos? And even THEN it looks right!

 I gotta agree with Chuck. He has some horrible mistakes in there. For instance, The use of a coarse thread bolt on the inside left wing support faring on support beam 5.4 located near the hydrolic overpressure feed. This should be a fine threaded flush hexicon with an unmarked face.  I also spotted a made in Japan TM located on some of his electronic gear behind the radio's. Trying to pass of a radio made by Sony in a WWII US Navy Aircraft! Can you believe it? Then the filaments in the vaccume tubes are just all wrong. Thyat style wasn't in place until 1950's  Vintage Automobiles.

Honestly I don't know what I am going to do with him! I'll be over next weekend to help you get it right Chuck!

 Ok so humor me, I can't find a thing wrong with it ? Maybe the scuff on the wing was made by the wrong sized boot?

 Chuck you are a master of super-detailing! That's all there is too it!

Truly though, A rabbit's foot on a chain and possibly a snap-shot of a wife or girlfriend on the control panel would be a nice touch!

Geez you guys are just too mean. You know Chucks going to be twitchin while reading that, and wondering where he can get some fine chain, or fabricate some for a 1/48th rabbits foot. lol

Chuckw, man is there anything on that plane that isn't srachbuild or is PE. This it the most unbeleivable model that I'm ever seen made, every little bit of detail is correct (well just about). I could never do that much.

You should but this build into book form and make yourself a fortune, i'd but it and so would thousands of other I bet. Outstanding!!!!

I dont post too often but never miss an update.  Gosh chuk... can you come to Wyoming and give me a hand with a li'l B-17 project I have planned?  It'll only involve a couple months of your time... honest.  LOL!!

All joking aside, chuk... its amazing what you are doing with that Helldiver.  Absolutely amazing.  Merry Christmas to you and yours.  See you in your next installment of this adventure to near perfection!!

Astounding as usual! It's amazing how chukw keeps finding all these little details to replicate; stuff I wouldn't begin to think existed!

A rabbit's foot might be pretty easy to replicate. A tiny piece of soft "faux fur" fabric might work, or if he has a furry, long-haired cat (or knows someone that has one), he could gently brush the cat and use the cat hair. Chukw could probably scratchbuild a chain without too much trouble, or maybe a very short piece of aftermarket model-ship anchor chain might do the trick.

Hi! well I don´t spake to much english so it´s hard to me exprese some thoughts or choose the correct words, but WOW!!!!!!!!!!!! wthat a great work!!! I never see yours kits before (since i can´t spend much time in the forum sometimes i lost great pics of all the guys work) but I sure will pay more attention.

You guys kill me!  Wouldja look at that view count- over 49K!  Well, most of that is me checking in but you bunch of bananas have really kept me on my toes.  Thanks, brothers and sisters!

Barring events unforeseen, the next post will see this bird finished. Just a couple of things to add- read on to see what. I did forget to add one thing- a Quickboost Mk VII gunsight- on its way from Sprue Brothers. I'd like to take a moment to wish each and every one of you and your families peace on Earth, and goodwill towards man.

Things look great.  It's going to be bitter sweet seeing this end.  Yet as the saying goes, "All good things come to an end".

I've been following this eagerly, you have lots of very useful tips and techniques scattered throughout the build and I hope this gets pinned somewhere as well. Maybe it would be useful to have the entire build available as a PDF file?
