I waited until the build was complete before replying.

I followed this bird from its infancy to adulthood. GREAT BUILD!

She sure is a beauty !

As above, I too could not wait each Sunday night for the "Helldiver" e-mail to show up in my inbox. Absolutely amazing, seriously.

WOW Chuk, that is really something to look at. Awe inspiring work.  The view into the gunners compartment is spectacular.  I am going to miss these little interludes.

Chukw.... thanks so much for this thread.  I've learned a LOT watching that 'diver come to life.  And come to life it DID.  Awesome... completely... totally... Awesome!!  What museum are you going to give it to?  :)  Please don't make us wait TOO long on the next project.  And again, thank you for a heck of a tutorial.

....another aspect amid the great craftsmanship is how chukw never hid or glossed over any errors made along the way and even detailed the repairs!

Superb!!!! I have really enjoyed this, your modelling skills and your buddies, as this has progessed. I can only hope that my next project will attain 1/16 what you have done. It has been a great time from start to finish. This is really a wonderful job, once again.

I think the most amazing part to me (aside from the incredible finished product) is the amount of patience you have to stick with the SAME BUILD for so long...a quality that I sorely lack. If I'm not throwing something on the shelf every now and then, the motivation wanes for me.

This is awesome, Chuk, better than museum quality, this is simply a masterpiece.  Hard to believe it's complete.

I really like your antenna technique and how you did the gunsight.  I'll be looking for the Quickboost gunsight soon.

Wow, Chuck!  Your Helldiver is a contest-winner, that's for sure.

But what's even better was your SBS.  You have a real way with organizing and presenting the steps.  I could see very easily that you could have held a seminar on this subject-do you do anything like this kind of presentation in real life?  Very well-thought-out, aimed at the audience, very patient to explain the finer points-you're an excellent presenter.  As a former teacher and instructor, I tip my hat to you, sir!  This is the best SBS on a scale modeling topic that I've ever seen!

Sir, you are an artist and an inspiration. I really think this thread should be made into a book. We mere modelers could learn so much from this. Many thanks for sharing your build. nice one.

Guys, I'm absolutely floored by this outpouring of support- snf!- THANKS!!!    What else can I say but you guys are the greatest.  EVER!   :D

I can't keep you hanging any longer- I'm going to make a quick base for her from the Eduard plastic deck and maybe a Verlinden deck crewman or two, but then it's on to the ProMod Me 410 with the Aires and Eduard goodies.  Anybody got the engine set and want to sell half?  I don't to buy the whole thing and spoil the look with both BMW's hanging out... ;D

Great choice for your next build Chuckster. I built that one with mixed results (Mainly paint) Watch out for the dodgy fitting Cockpit glass, and apparantly the Barbette sights are modelled the wroing way up?

Im sure its a waste of time offerring help to a Genius anyhow LOL.
