Don't do it! It looks reallly horrible and unrealistic (there again, I think pre-shading looks unrealistic anyway, but that's another story...), as you can see from Swanny's post. If for whatever reason you can't pre-shade using an airbrush, try post-shading using Conte Crayons, after you've applied the decals and varnish. This method has the advantage that if you don't like what you've done, you can rub it off with a putty rubber, and start over. Cheers, Chris.
