Researching my victim this evening.  Sent out my itty bitty spies to ransack, I mean gather intelligence on XXXXXXX's stash.

Intelligence reports received have supplied me with the location and the list of XXXXXXXX's 'hidden stash', along with what XXXXXXXXX is pining for.  My little spies have left behind a hidden camera and I am receiving steady reports on XXXXXXX shopping habits.

Jon thanks for you know who....Taped Shut [XX]

I can't tell y'all how much I enjoy watching everyone just have fun. It means so much to me.

And I'd like to thank everyone for the kind and encouraging words you've sent in emails and PMs. All of you make this worth the effort- thank you all, my friends.

Tried to go shopping for my "victim" this evening but the hobby shop I was going to evidently isn't there any more. Looks like Squadron could be receiving an order soon. The Raleigh area is in need of a good hobby shop. Jon, do you know of one maybe.

None in Raleigh that I know of, but I rarely get upo that way. Hayes Hobby House down here in Fayetteville is an old fashioned, well stocked shop. Kits, resin, P/E... everything a modeler needs. Folks drive here from Wilmington, Charlotte, Raleigh and Myrtle Beach. If you head down this way, let me know. Maybe we can meet up!

Thanks Jon. Might have to take a drive and take a look. I am used to having a hobby store within a 15 minute drive. Going to have to get used to it.

Alright....question from a first timer here.....I know some of you have a stash of hundreds of kits..what's the chances of you getting a kit you already have....

Feelin the pressure in finding the perfect kit,

Mark

I wouldn't worry about it. If folks have more than one example of a particular kit in the stash, its 'cause they really like it, and probably wouldn't mind building another one.

Uh, *ahem* That being said, I think I have a few AccMin SB2Us lurking in my closet... LOL Wink [;)]

Sssshh, don't say Spitfire, Frank! Jon needs his rest on the weekends...

I can just see him, kicking back and watching football... suddenly, he perks up, lumbers off the couch, and rushes over to the computer. "Somebody typed 'Spitfire!'" Smile [:)]

Hit the LHS today to seek out the most fantastic model kit I could find.  It is a real trinket kit, or is a gem of a kit.  I don't know the hobbyperson informed be it is a great kit, but I wonder as they got it out of the back room and it is wrapped in plain brown paper...........Whistling [:-^] Does that mean, it is one of a kind.  Dec 25 will reveal all.............when XXXXXXXXXXTaped Shut [XX] systematically and carefully unwraps the paper so it can be reused.   NOT A CHANCE.

Are you suggesting, sir, that I would be prone to bending the rules just for the sake of fun? What kind of pilot would do such an awful, naughty thing? Shock [:O]

Okay, so I do it all the time. Hey, this is the time of year to get in your kicks buzzing corn mazes! LOL

This morning, I took one of my privat pilot students into an 1800-foot grass strip. It was only about 45 degrees, but he was sweating for some reason. Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg]

Not this time, actually. But that is my favorite piece of equipment to fail on them! Big Smile [:D]Evil [}:)]

The landing alone had him nervous - power lines at the approach end, eight foot tall corn at the other.

What where you flying? I would be sweating if i was trying to get something large into there but if it was a Cub or something small maybe not.

Piper Warrior II, and it was a field that I've been into before. The airplane is more than capable, but the student doesn't necessarily believe that. Seeing the numbers on a performance chart is one thing, but actually looking down at a tiny grass strip for the first time is something else.

The Warrior is not a STOL airplane by any means, but for a four-seater it has pretty darn good short-field performance, although it has a tendency to float at touchdown - you don't dare come in fast. I've gotten it off the ground in about 800 feet at about 4,000 ft density altitude and 200 lbs under max gross weight. That was on pavement though, it takes at least 1000 feet to get it off the ground on grass.

Do you fly, Ollie?

No i do not hold a license but i do have some stick time in various aeroplanes. I know the Warrior is not a STOL aircraft. I do see them regulary flying into and out of my local strip which i believe has two runways at 628 metres and 648 metres, grass strip at 1100 metres above sea level.

It always amases me how rapidly some of the microlight types get airbourne.
