Jon, what's the deadline for having the gifts sent out?

I have a kit picked out of the stash, now just need to add a few extra and wrap it up!

Even though it may seem a bit early, I'd like to ask that folks get them sent out by November 15th- especially the international ones.

Thanks all!

Been sitting here this evening looking at the item for *********and trying to decide how to wrap it.  It is so complicated that I had to break out my CAD program, protractors, tweezers, and all the other drafting toys.  In short my drafting tool went the way of the carpet monster and CAD program CRASHED.

I got a blood curdling scream from the CAD progam with the red screen of death that said, "I can't figure out how to wrap a hexagon shaped package".

Oh jeepers creepers, when all else fails, sleep on it.  Then in the morning break out the good old trusty chalk and blackboard, works everytime. I HOPE Banged Head [banghead]Banged Head [banghead]

Surely an easier way is to place it in a larger box of a regular shape? It would cause the reciever even more fun with the delay. Hmm now that given me an idea, how many boxes can i fit my kit in. *insert evil laugh here*

I got my gift for my Santa-ee! It's a pretty nice kit, plus I threw in a little goodie that I know I'd love to have (actually I can't get enough of this goodie hehe). Now I just need to add that personal touch. What does that include? Well, zipmeister knows... he was my Santa-ee for the first two! A four page personal essay, wasn't that right zip? LOL. Hope my Santa-ee likes to read!

Quick question: If you buy a USPS Flat-rate box, do you have to use flat rate? If Priority Mail is cheaper, can I select that option?

Also, a heads up for you guys that send a lot of packages through the mail, you can go to USPS.com and get certain boxes and labels sent to your house for free. Takes about a week, but MAN it's convenient! Check it out!

Oooohhh..................... got the perfect torture kit model for my santa-ee yesterday! Went to a Model train show and sure enough, there was a guy having an estate sale for a lovely widdow. So as the saying goes..... one for you two for me Whistling [:-^]

Now just to wrap it, arm the anti-opening device and add a few other traps to the mix Laugh [(-D]

Hmmm..... wonder if he has the right paints....... maybe I'll add an extra engine, but it needs more than one. Hmmmm.......... given the nationality of the markings, hmmm..................

Take this plastic and model it!

I have a friend who gets all his boxes free from USPS website.... then wraps them in brown paper and ships them USPS cheaper than the flat rate! Sound slike a plan to me

Say, that's a pretty good idea. The only catch is that you can't get just one box, you have to order the boxes in lots of 10 or 25.

Up, up and away! Sent my packet this afternoon.

If the postal service doesn't mess up things, XXXXXXX is going to have his gift sitting on a shelf for more than a month! Reminds me of a novel by E.A.Poe ...

Oh wouldn't it be a grand slice of cake if he got it on Hallowe'en Day.  He would have to ponder is this a trick or the real treat. Evil [}:)] timing.

Ready to wrap mine (kaboom).

I mentioned it last year and the above post reminded me of it again.  Please do not use UPS or Fedex to ship outside of the USA.  They will charge the reciever a $35 customs brokerage fee to get it across the border into Canada.  I don't know what they charge in other countries.  The postal service only charges $5 if it has to go through customs (which is determined by the value on the parcel).
