Poor image and overcast sky really messes things up.

Looking around the inside in the rear looks almost light seafoam green for a few seconds.

Aaron - my Dad has some old kahki tan tarps that have USN stenciled upon them. I would paint them  Model Master Enamel "Sand" 33531 as that makes a close match ..

Lt - Thanks for the thoughts, I heard some ice crackiling on the River earlier from the extra H20.

Take a peek at the outside shot when it is taxing out. Really green with the sunlight. The inside does look dark gray in the pit shots but I wonder if it is the poor lighting?

Good grief I have become invisable!?!??!?

Alex! The interior at 1st appeared dark gray but my view of the back wall shows it to be Green zinc chromate heavily weathered! That's my story and I'm sticking with it!

Dog gone Navy squid ignoring me! I'm gonna paint them Army green and be done with it I say! Pirate [oX)]

Hi Alex! Glad yer getting started! Cool help and hints already up here!

I can play any stringed instument except a banjo.....even a violin.....I know my way around a keyboard and with a synthesizer you get a lot of help. I was a garage band drum banger as a teen....but guitar is the main instrument the past 30 yeaqrs, but not consistently. I can't shred but I have my moments.....as I said this tape CD is almost 8 years old......I listed my guitars on that old Odd n Ends guitar thread if that what was you meant. I'm down to just 4 guitars now.....too much styrene in the blood.

Frankie! You've done it again! Why not!!?? Certainly fits with the GB libation! But I'm glad you didn't photochop 'PBY GB' across her body somewhere!Laugh [(-D] (No, don't do that!)

Richie....forgot about the CD request! Yes, if you like. I'll get some more album covers printed up!

Please don't think that the CD is some earthshaking work of art! I recorded it over a year while in the VA hospital recovering from surgery. Most guitar parts were recorded in my dorm room....drums were done on a broken drum machine (buttons didn't always work every time)....vocals had to be recorded in the Music Therapy studio (where I 'worked'Mischief [:-,]) and all was recorded on a 4-track cassette recorder. I played every instrument and sang every part....believe me, no bragging here. It was fun and theraputic.

The copies aren't write protected.....so Frankie! When your buddy gets thru laffing and wants a copy....burn him one on yer new PC!

Ahoy Gang!

Thanks for all the wishes about Midshipman Cubbie! He'd never been out of the yard before and took of into the woods where I followed his tracks until too dark to see. He probably got turned round and followed his nose until he reached a cul-de-sac street a quarter mile away! Some nice petless family found him, bathed the dirt, shivering bas*ard and dropped him at the town animal shelter yesterday a.m. I had left msg's there and they got back to me. They gave Cubbie's benefactor my # and they called......but would accept no reward. Great folks!Thumbs Up [tup] (Now their kids want a Yorkie as they loved him!)

XO! Great help to the squadron with the nose weights! Yours and Mike's lovely storm is going to hit CT tomorrow and everybody is panicking again. Lightweights! Try living in lake effect snow-bands!

Mike! Fab progress on that Cat! Love the look of the engines! Keep at her!

Sigh [sigh]Aaron, Aaron.....Aaron! Should have painted them tarps!Laugh [(-D] But then, you could've cut a penny slot behind the pit and opened a 'what-if' bombay opening to get the needed cash!Laugh [(-D]....But does this mean that 3 Quarters equal 72 pennies?Confused [%-)]

Richie! Old Sock! You got back faster than I expected! Sign - Welcome [#welcome].....good your input is back!

Billy Bondo....The alliterative bane of the King's English! Laugh [(-D]

Nick! Take a breath and work on something else for a while! It'll come back. We've all been there!Thumbs Up [tup]

Personally, (heh) I should get something done while being snowed in tomorrow......I just feel fortunate that I don't feel ill after my Yukon chase the other night! And more fortunate that there is this crew here!

Someone pull the bung from the keg! We'll share some ale!Make a Toast [#toast]

Sean- Glad you liked it!  Every time I see that photo of you in snow up to your waist, I shudder. Yuck [yuck]

Mike- Four inches so far, eh?  Rest that cord-pulling arm- more is on the way! Shock [:O]

Aaron- You're welcome!  Just think- If things ever get desperate, you have savings in your PBY.  Could at least buy, I don't know, a soda with it? Confused [%-)] LOL...  I like the look of the masking tape rools- it DOES look like tarps!  Probably hiding the ale from the BVD! Pirate [oX)]

Ok I think I am ready to put the fuselage and stuff together. I made my weights. Made six stacks of 10 pennies and added 2 more per stack to keep it even. 72 cents so six stacks of 12 pennies which exceeds Franks calculations by 4 cents.

A quick glue together than wrapped them in masking tape. Wanted to ensure the hold together as not to make a PBY piggy bank.  Glad I did so as they actually can be seen through those futured side windows. The tape makes them look like tarp covered something or others. Besides if I had a giant penny showing up in my PBY Chuk may sue for copy-right infringement, Laugh [(-D]Pirate [oX)]Mischief [:-,]Taped Shut [XX]

Got a hair on the window! Hmmm. Anyways plenty of weight. It is dispursed between all 3 gear pretty well and  foresee no issues but it is surprisingly heavy.  Takes a lot to get it to even pivot. Sat the tail and wing pieces on the rear fin. Didn't move.  More than enough should anyone decide to weight it. Not as refined as Frank or Nam , but it works!  Thank you much for the weight and number of pennies Frank it worked well for me! Thumbs Up [tup]

Daywalker, we have had about 4 inches of snow so far and it is still coming down. I know what you mean about tired arms, I had to pull the rope twice on the snow thrower to get it to start, so I could clear the drive way! Whistling [:-^]

Great work Mike!  I was hoping to start on mine today, but the 10+ inches of snow has me beat.  Can't even lift my arms.  Tell you what, I also wanted to paint the whitewash on the FW today- but for some strage reason I am no longer in the mood to see snow. Sigh [sigh]

Here is a couple progress photos

The wing is not glued on yet but I am getting there. I checked before I glued in the wheel wells and I can build the landing gear after painting the plane itself. That should make it much easier to work with the gear.
