well, as they say "its better late than never" here are a couple of pics of my concorde, this kit was a blimming nightmare, and i have another 1/144th to do now too. plus a 1/72nd one, as stated before this model ain't too pretty with the repairs i had to do to the white paintwork after the masking took huge chunks of it off,
hope you enjoy all the same, your models all look great btw,

hi there -
@giblets in particular...

i just got the VEB Tu-144 kit and obviously noticed the largest windows in the world™
i was also kind of worried about the length & shape of wings but then checked back with pics of the prototype and realized the kit's actually ok in these fields.

So my particular question is: what did you do about the windows? You were thinking about using the kit's scanned-in decals as templates & put proper-sized windows onto these. what would you have printed these on?
I understand you eventually painted on the cheatline - how did you do the windows on/in that?

I kno, loads of questions...
thanks a lot in advance to you or anybody who can be of help here...

Try asking F-dcal. http://www.f-dcal.net/
If it is the Doyusha kit, you have the prototype, I did this kit and f-dcal scaled up their decals to fit,t hey will do likewise for any of the desins.
They have all three BA concorde designs and the two Air France ones, as well as those for the prototype.

The £19.99 price tag always surprised me! I've got the Airfix kit but I really want the Heller decals... I need to find someone on the Continent who has the kit and wants a BA plane...!

Hi there, may well do, I have my 72 scale concorde sitting on top of a cupboard, think I may do Concorde G-BBDG, now at brooklands, had the negus (red tail BA markings) and test squares for its prototype life!
I main problem is space at the moment!
Would be interested to hear if anyone has got the cockpit mechanism to work on the 72 scale concorde yet, everyone seems to be ending up glueing it in position :)

Apparently the price of the 72 scale bird is going up to £29.99! So buy it quick! :)

HI there,yes I am on the airfix forum, not on here that much though. The corrected visor is a resin one from Bra.z
Have finally completed my 1/100 Doyusha Prototype (well need to touch up the Hydraulic actuators on the tails), but otherwise complete! There are some more pictures (including a singpore airlines concorde) here http://www.personal.leeds.ac.uk/~men0edp/concorde1.htm

VC-10, feel free to revive this GB..! I too have the Airfix 1/72 Concorde to build, but my next SST will probably be the Tu-144, in the new year though...

Indeed there are a number of errors on the Revell kit (1/144). You can purchase a new 'visor' from... Cutting Edge, I think, or is it BraZ Models..? I simply modified the Revell part for my SABENA Concorde, though. The wheel units all lack the deflectors and the engine exhaust are very simplified. The 'spine' atop of the fuselage near and in front of the fin is at the wrong place too. However, the main problem with the Revell kit is the fit of the major parts. It is attrocious. It's one of Revell's older airliner kit too. Nothing to do with their latest kits.

Can i join? I have built 2 concordes, a revell one and the 1.72 Airfix one. The revell one has a bad nose when drooped. the cockpit glass shpould be pionted but it is flat.

Hi there, got my Tu-144 up and ready, and also recieved my Prototype decals from F-decal for my Doyusha Concorde, which should be done for the end of the month (maybe :))

Next to a spacemodels production concorde of the same scale.

Hi everyone,
well I've actually got round to working on my Concorde! This one is a commission build and the chap I'm building it for got in touch recently asking me to hurry up. So here's the update: Much filling and sanding done, flaps and nose lowered, final coat of paint drying.

Hi Guys, my concorde is finaly done. this has been a nightmare of a kit but it didn't beat me (though i damn near beat it with a hammer - how'd that be for a kitbash LoL). pics will be posted as soon as poss. it isn't very prety because of the problems i have had with it but its built and thats the main thing i suppose. did i enjoy it, not really. though it had some good points. will i buy another airfix concorde, no probably not (until the 1/72 comes out anyways), did i learn from it. yes i learnt that determination is one of the most important tools you can't buy.

Hi there, just did some measuring Re the windows on the 1/100 Tu-144, whcih are too big.
The windows on this kit are (all are wdith*height) 3*4mm.
The 1/100 doyusha prototype concorde ( which unlike the prototypes has normal size windows) which could be used to give a good size estimate are 2*3 (or just under?).
Hope this helps with your kits.

Well Folks, I finally finished my BA Concorde. Unfortunately, I don't have a digital camera, so you'll have to take my word for it. But I have to say, I got a great feeling of accomplishment when it was done. I've moved on to Air Force One and it's going a lot faster. I think I'm finally getting back in the groove. I've found that while it's nice to add bells and whistles to the kits to make them accurate, you can still have fun with them right out of the box.

Has anyone noticed that the Prototype Tu-144 has silver trailing edges on the wings and tailplane ( the decal for the tailplane for the russian kit is blue), also the underside of the rear fuselage.
