I'm in business!I got the DML KugelBlitz today and thank The Lord on His throne it has indy links. It's part of the '39-'45 series.

I rather liked the tracks when i looked at mine, and am going with them rather than my usual Fruil tracks. The only AM i found for this was an Eduard PE set, 35330. It seems to be just a basic Pz IV set, nothing specific to the Kugel turret.

I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so

TD4438 - looking forward to seeing your Kugelblitz! Always dug how that variant looked. Thumbs Up [tup]

Speaking of DML indies, I don't think I had passed this link along - picked it up at Ausfwerks in the "Techniques" section. If you guys haven't shopped/browsed there before, be sure to check it out. Jeff stocks a lot of cool stuff at decent prices, and always ships super fast.*

Guys: A little WIP update...here's the Jag'd IV with the road wheels and tools added. Count 'em 80!!! roadwheel rims (including spares) airbrushed dunkelgelb with a circle template...2 hours non-stop!!!  I am really appreciating the name of this GB now!

These photos show the first pass of dry brushing:

Ummm, is it just me or did I miss something?  I count 8 double-wheels on each side for a total of 32, plus the 2 spares (4 more) for 36...

Other than that bit o' confusion, I am really liking this build.  I'm with dupes, those tools are super bright!  I know you've got something planned to beat them down to 'parade rest'.

Hey, thanks guys...here's a little math lesson bbrowniii...Wink [;)]:

8 DOUBLE wheels equals 4 rims, totals 32 SURFACES TO MASK/SPRAY!!! times two sides equals 64!  4 DOUBLE spares times two sides each equals 16...TOTAL 80 SURFACES TO MASK/SPRAY!!!...TRUST ME!!!

Yeah, those tools are blinding me too!  I'll knock it down as I go along.

SMJ - just because you painted both sides of your wheels doesn't mean that the number of wheels doubled. Sorry bub. Wink [;)]

I know, but you can't spray both sides at once!  I am appreciating the amont of wheels having gone through the effort to hold that DAMN template in place, spray until it gets so much paint on it I have to clean it...  Not to mention getting the angle of the airbrush right, etc...OK, now I sound like a whiner...Boohoo [BH]

Ahhh, now I understand...  Yeah, I'm with you SMJ, holding that template in place is a Censored [censored]....  80 it is!!!  GOOD WORK!!!

Wow SMJ your Jagdpanzer is looking really good, I like the plain colour scheme. I used Eduard paint masks for my Jagdpanzer, made the job of painting the road wheels a little easier

Good catch...BUT..I only mounted two spares, the others are painted I just need a place to put them.  I'm considering the rack on the back where the spare tracks go...in addtion to the tracks.  They should fit...you got any other suggestion?

Nice looking Jagd IV SMJ. Can't wait to see her all done up with your special treatment. Oh by the way, I found out from Bob at Hobbytown that they build every thursday night unless notified of a change.

GEEEZ!!  I've been away far too long!!  I'm sure I've missed some fantastic MK IV builds lately...I'm going to have to spend a goodly amount of time catching up on previous posts!  Anyway I won't get around to any of my major builds for this GB for another month or so, but I need to do SOMETHING so I don't feel left behind!

Hey dupes, is it OK if I try a quick 1/72 build just to get me going?  I've got a couple of Cpl. Overby's resin kits in the stash, a Pz IV Ausf D and a Jagdpanzer IV.  No AM tracks, no PE...just some resin parts.  The Coree Ausf A is still my main build and I'll get to it as soon as I can.

Started the tracks tonight. I'm making good progress. Will get pics once more are done.

I picked up an old Tamiya Panzer IV D at a show today. I'm thinking about making it my second build. I've got some Dragon figies I can use too.

Here's some pics of my Jagdpanzer.  I'm trying to go with a mopped on camo approach.

The first picture is the straight on paint.  Second and third pictures, of poor quality I might add, were taken after I added a wash of dunkelgelb to tone the camo down.  Next up are oil washes of various hues of Burnt Umber followed up with pin washes, then BETTER PICTURES!

Nice looking camo Glamdring Thumbs Up [tup]Thumbs Up [tup]

I've added paint to my build first I did a coat of Tamiya German Gray than a coat of Flat White.

In the pix you can't realy see the gray under the white but it's there.

Now to start weathering the intirior.

Hey Ernest, as long as you get to that Ausf. A some time before the end of the year (I REALLY want to see that puppy built!) then no problemo. Snag a stripe on one of those smaller fellas first. Big Smile [:D]

Lots of good work guys! Wow, three WIPs on one page...keep it coming!

Guys: DID I SCREW THIS UP?!:

I could SWEAR the exhaust assembly is to be red/brown...rusty, etc...so that's how I proceeded...after about 2/3 of the painting completed I reviewed the directionsBlack Eye [B)]...it calls for the pipe sticking out to be the only part to be painted metallic...I would go red/brown/rust of course.  I NEED SOME HELP/ ANSWERS...Confused [%-)]...please.

...MAN, I sure can see some of those little imperfections when it's magnified 3X!!!

AHA!! Mystery solved!

Sorry it took me a bit to get back to you, didn't get to the computer this weekend...

Yeah, I think rigging them on the back would look pretty cool, actually.

Steve - no worries. That's just the tamiya directions - they call out just about anything that should be metal-y XF-56. What you have is right...continue on! Wink [;)]Thumbs Up [tup]
