Ok This is it! I decided to build my own 109 just as good as Frank's and you other expert 109ers Using Frank's proven techniques I strove to create a perfect build. 1st I painted my Propeller! (3 times) Very important. 2nd went and collected sticks! Tooth picks. scuirs, popsickle, corndog and even a few fallen twigs from the trees just to be sure I had the right ones. 3rd, Got undressed. No snagging of parts on clothing allowed. No clothing no snags! 4 gather styrofoam! 5, lock yourself in your room to avoid upset wife wondering why you are nekid gathering styrofoam. AND HERE'S what happened..................... Took my now dry triple painted prop to test the spinner decal application method. The egg carton foam and such didn't hold the tooth pick secure enough so I chuked it right in my dremel tool. Super glued the prop to the tooth pick and was all set. Now at this point I realized Frank always wears that optivisor. Don't have one of those so I just put on an old helmet with a big magnifying glass duct taped too it! Problem solved. Prepped my decal in distilled water and slid the center starting point right center of the prop hub, over the canon hole. My dremel is a multiple setting 5 speed so to get it to grab and snuggle down I set it on the 22,000 rpm setting. Well I let er rip an the whole prop took off! Flying around the room bouncing off walls and out the window. I heard the dog yelp very loudly but didn't see where it went. A little discouraged I sat back on my chair where I had placed the strofoam and tooth picks impaling them into my bare bum! Morale of the story is I'm leaving the 109's to the masters. Frank you should really have a disclaimer up about not trying this at home. Somebody could get hurt! Great work!" border="0" width="16" height="16" /> |
