Well ya'll should pull you fingers out. Shooter was finished ages ago. (Good man) Frank the only one with a decent excuse....Hes building about a dozen planes, even as we speak.

Ive used Eagle cals before but these have semi beaten me. There are several places where the decs have wrinkled, and cos im using the Hasa tulip decs the spinner is slightly the wrong shade of red. Doh. Hopefully a good round of weathering will help hide the nightmares.

Guy, I bet you arent to far off. Seems everywhere I go Frank has something on the bench for it. i don't know how he does it as I'm a one kit man. More than that and I get all panicky and restless.

Sounds like it may be better to mask it right out of the gate, marc. Spray it and save yourself the aggravation.

Tulip decals. Oh my God, im getting the shakes. Mines done now. But the Tulips were a nightmare. What i ended up doing was rubbing down the wrinkles (And there were a few) and touching them up with the new 'Red' mix that i had to knock up as the spinner was sprayed for the Eagle cals red and not the hasagawa red. The other major wrinklation was the large fuz crosses. Both sides. Sorry Eagle cal, you lut me down Boooo.

Aah well here she is. Its been a great GB and ive learnt loads.

Thx for the GB Frank, its been great. And your all welcome over to my Reggy areo GB (Gratuitous Plug No. 5). Ill still be hanging about as im sure theres more great stuff to come.

Shock [:O]How do you manage to fall into a bucket of poo and end up smelling like a rose Guy?

Non matching paint! Wrinkly decals and the K-4 looks perfect again ! In record time!  I don't want to know how you do it cuz it has to be paranormal! The TV shows will be investigating your home for all the supernatural activity! Has to be the only explanation! I am just now starting to paint on mine and even with the fumes attacking my brain cells I cannot believe what you have managed to accomplish yet again!  Steller work there fellow I can only try to follow in your footsteps as I am unworthy to stand in your shadow!

I am just betwitshed! Bow [bow]Dead [xx(]

That's is one tough act to follow Guy. Just gorgeous.

Tough or not, follow we must. So here is where I am... very close to the tulips

Guy- That really came out excellent, you really nailed the hard demarcation line and the mottling.  Just a gorgeous build!

Marc- Outstanding paint work!

Steve- Looking good!

I've got my second entry finished but didn't have time for pics before I left for Okinawa.  A third entry for me?  Maybe!

Thx everyone. Im Blushing now Approve [^] Aaron, you are definately nutz my friend.

Marc, I cant look. Tulip decals will be haunting me now FOREVER!!!. I wonder though. EC decs are very delicate and i was using Gunzes Mr Softer and setter and they are a bit on the harsh side. Maybe using a gentler setting solution like Microsol and set. Mmmmmm, by gimminey that may be the solution.

Marc that looks  uh  pretty dog gone realistic. I am envious!

Mike another?

Guy! So far I have hacked, drilled, cut, rebuilt, fabricated , replaced with resin and PE, added brake lines clamps and lord knows what else all from what I have seen done by everyone here! If I am nuts I am in good company and probably because of this  109 G-6 monstrosity of a kit!  I realize that this is all self inflicted but I still like to Yell at Frank for it! Then I find out just for kicks he is working on a Tamiya Fockwulf ! Well ok maybe I am nuts! But just because I followed my friends off the cliff!

Aaron, if ive, in anyway, influenced you in any build. Then i take that as the highest possible compliment. You rule mate. And you are responsible for my blowing all manner of eateries and drinkeries all over my monitor. So keep up the craziness. Who needs clean monitors anyhow. LOL.

Well dog gone it Y'all! You really need to quite inspiring me! This is a lotta work! Confused [%-)]Laugh [(-D] I can't even tell you what all I have done to this kit now! I know I have lost my mind because it is mounted on sticks! Boohoo [BH] Oh woe is me it has come to this! I hope nobody in the Armor forum finds out about this?!  Kinda like forgetting to zip your fly and getting mixed up and going into the ladies room by mistake. That can be embarressing!

With all these great paint jobs one after another I decidedly resolved to be ready to paint befire my off days tomorrow! I thought I was close but wow all this stuff is time consuming! Going back to fade paint on the backside of the prop. Prepaintimg, Cutting little foam mask for the wheel wells. Getting the RLM 02 paint jar to open when you have used it since the BOB GB!  Turn it upside down and put a few drops of thinner or lighter fluid along the cap seam Wait 2 or 3 minutes and opens right up. Remeber to turn the jar right side up again before opening otherwise the paint spills into your still open fly! Having the goodies a gray green color can be cause for some explaining if you get my meaning!

Got the wing join seams looking good! Seems there are seams that should be there in places and others that shouldn't. Just matching things up to the pics. Like the Gun cover under the windscreen and aft of the cowling was a solid piece on top. No seam there I think.

Well I do believe it I get the canopy all mask up. It was futured a week ago, I should be ready to paint on something!  Think I need to eat something.

Steve -- the all-76 bird looks really good! can't wait to see her finished!

Guy -- the tulip K-4 is FABULOUS! All those problems but the decals looks superb! You're a master of your art, my friend! I gotta do one of these one day (and I'll remember about the gentler solutions, I generally use Microscale chemistry so i'll stick to it!) The pics went into my reference file for future guidence and inspiration!

Wingnut and sfcmac -- coming along, guys, they're gonna be great!

As soon as the New Year holiday is out of the way I can seriously tru to find RLM 75 and 76. Maybe by LHS will restock, I can only hope. The place in Hong Kong doesn't keep MM, and I found a place in Queensland that will mail order them but only ships by courier and they get expensive.

I'm on the last lap with my Tiger over at Big Cats, GB #3 is biting the dust for me!

Cheers,

Mike

Hi WN --

You mean the F-2 in winter scheme? Yep, they came in weeks ago -- I'm sorry, I was positive I PM'd as soon as they arrived! They're great, all I need is a kit to go with them! (my F turned out to be an F-4). What do you recommend? Do Hasegawa make an F-2? I'll also research the diff, if the F-2 and -4 were virtually indistinguishable it might be a minor conversion to use the one I have.

Thanks a million, buddy, I really apprciate it!

Cheers,

Mike

What the?

I go to work for a few hours, and when I return I find that:

1. Guy has finished another stunning build

2. Wing_nut- has his already painted, and is ready to decal

3. luftwaffle finished his SECOND build here, and is thinking about a third

4. Mac is using styro blocks and sticks

How long have I been gone?  I turn around to spray a little paint on my FW and miss half the fun.  Superflactualicious build my friend, absolutely penultimaculately done.  I love it!  OMG, now I am starting to talk like him too.  LOL... Disapprove [V]
