Thank you everyone for the positive input. The kit is no show winner. I think I spent all of about 3 hours building it and filling in seams. About 5 airbrushing it. I enjoyed this build even though it is far from accurate and all fine detail is non existent. it still looks good in the display case just do'nt look to close!

OK guys here is my Me109G-6 WHite 7 4./JG51 flown by Obfw. Elias Kuhlein.  Fujimi 1/48 Eduard Zoom Set.  Ministry of Small Aircraft decals which were absolutely horrible.  Final weathering has yet to be done.

Hope you all like.  This was a nice build except for the decals.

She looks very nice Johnny! I have this kit in my stash. Is there anything to watch out for whenever I get around to building it?

Carlos- It may be just the camera settings, but that RLM 76 looks a bit dark.  Is it just me?  The spray work looks top notch. Thumbs Up [tup]

John- Well done!  Love those markings, too bad the decals were such a PITA.  Overall, some excellent work and a stunning 109. Approve [^]  I updated page 1 for you!

Frank the RLM 76 does look darker on here. I used all my lighting (open shades allowing in sunlight plus overhead incandescent lights) plus the flash, so I presume it was that. To my eye, without the flash, it is actually quite light.

Stikpusher, nice job on the 76.

Johnny, great looking K.

The decals look great despite the problems you had with them.

Carlos- Amazing isn't it how a color can be just right, yet appear so different on the computer screen?  I look forward to seeing more pics as you progress. Thumbs Up [tup]

I worked on my 109 twins today! The G-10 has it's seams all sorted out, and the cockpit is mostly finished and installed- just need to finish the shoulder harnesses.  I also glued the wings on, and have to wait for them to dry before I remove the tape for photos.  Hope to have some tomorrow. Thumbs Up [tup]

I've been completely lacking in the pic department - actually started firing some paint on my Revell G-10 last night. Will try to take something tonight after several more subsequent layers of camo, hopefully post it tomorrow morning. Wink [;)]

Hey ho, me again, and what a cracker to come back too. John, white 7 is a stunner. Its something about the eyes. Theyre not mean looking as you would expect, they are sort of aloof. Like the planes saying 'Tum tee tum, ooh look at that cloud it looks like Father christmas in a wig' not 'Lets get at em boys' as you Would expect. I do like em though and it does set off a great build. Sorry about that, sometimes i go off at a tangent LOL.

After all the work I poured in to my Mossie this last week to get her ready for the Friday night IPMS chapter meeting, I had to step away from the work bench for the remainder of the weekend. But I did go visit a couple LHS today and picked up some Ultracast exhausts. So at the end of the week I shall resume construction and painting on my K.

Haaaaaahahahahah...too true! Laugh [(-D]

Alright, here we go - first pic is post-construction with the RLM 76 of a 83/75/76 scheme laid down. Using all Model Master Acrylics, because I'm colorblind, and can't eyeball colors to save my life. SOOO, despite the fact that I have issues with the paint (namely inability to mask with out peeling up, and issues thinning it to my liking) that's the route I went.

Pic number two is after I added the RLM 75 - forgot to take a pic of that stage. Masked the wing roots with Tamiya tape (which peeled up the 76 despite being the friendliest masking tape on the planet), and then freehanded the top section and the "squiggles". Silly putty was then applied to add the hard-edged portions of the RLM 83.

Final shot here is post-firing of the RLM 83 a few minutes later. Have never done a scheme with this color before. Seems awfully green? Anyone have experience with this color? Does it look right?

Whole bird got a generous coat of future this morning to aid in the decaling, and also (HOPEFULLY) to prevent any lifting when I add the white stripe later today (fingers crossed) around the fuselage with some gloss white. Decals after!

Any and all comments highly appreciated. Big Smile [:D]

dupes- I like your masking and paint, but agree that the RLM 83 looks awfully bright.  I ran into the same issue last year building my G-10 Yellow 5, and ended up overspraying the 83 with a darker OD to tone it down a bit.  I have never used the MM acrylics, so can't comment on which color to use to tone it down a bit.  Hopefully, someone else here has and can recommend an appropriate color. Thumbs Up [tup]

If not, I can always try to tone it down a bit during the weathering process - was thinking about hitting this guy with the "oil dot" treatment I always abuse my armor with. Wink [;)]

Good to see you making some progress there Dupes. The masking looks good. The 83 is definetly to light. I also have some eye trouble with greens browns and reds but I usally never have a problem matching colors. They appear different in my eyes than others but I have learned to make the adjustments and I have become pretty good at comparing colors to ensure my colors are not off. As far as having a problem with pulling up paint it sound like the paint is just not adhearing to the model very good. I like to give my models a good wipe down with some alcohol on a lint free towel to remove any skin oils from the model being handled during constructing. Since I have started doing this I have not pulled up one speck of paint while masking. Here is a pick of my G-14 with the nose painted in RLM 83. This is more of the shade it should be. Keep posting pics. can't wait to see more.
