SC - Glad your back and feeling better! You've been a mess lately... in and out of the horsepistol. We're gonna have to figure out a way to cure ya! I've never spent time in a hospital but I know what you mean about being naked and cold... everytime I go to the dentist, I'm told to undress before they put me under. That's just the way it is I guess. Wink [;)]

And don't let Aaron tell you it was the meatballs... I would never send you tainted meat. Plus his shirt says it all... "It's all Dave's fault"! Big Smile [:D]

Aaron - I don't know what's more unbelievable... that fact that you built that monster in a day or the fact that someone took that picture of you and let you post it on the internet. Confused [%-)]

Well, I'm still trudging away with that darn helichopter. I do need to cut into some resin soon so maybe I can pull out the cockpit of the ICR-42 and start chopping on that thing too.

SC - I noticed you had dropped off the grid. I thought maybe you were vacationing up in the Hamtoms or taking in the sights maybe up in Maine..  But not the Hospital Shock [:O]

I feel for ya, had to go get a slew of x-rays meself on Friday. All I had to wear was my boots , mustache and a gown with teddy bears that I never did figure which way the opening goes. I went opening on the front Confused [%-)] Least it was easier to tie shut ..

Anyways hope your warm and feeling better. Here is a pic to help warm you up - Coffee is on the stove perkulating if you want a cup.

Yey, Congratulations Dave. How many candles is it? I heard Jeremys on standbye when they light em up?

What have you got planned? Meal out, a bit of fun colonoscopy?, I know you canadians are crazy apparantly. Why not go and treat yourself to a hot water bottle or just go round Seans and cuddle up to the dangerous looking beast infront of his fire.

Have a great day, my friend and post pics LOL.

...Guy

P.S, Aaron, that was a stunning build for 48hrs. Even with the Gremilins attacking the outboard engine. I didnt think that youd finish it in time. Once again you prove that your the meastro. Top marks loony  Thumbs Up

I cant believe it. 24 hrs. No way. You are now my official HERO!!!

There was something though. One of those engines had a definate 'Radial' sound to it! Almost japanese. Cant for the life of me figure out why.

As for this GB, im going to be there soon. The Jug is coming along swimmingly. I have tomorrow off only im afraid but i should be able to get a bit more finished on her. The difficult bits are done, id say. That is the gloss black and the engine being wired. Its wierd, but i can hear that JU 290 calling me. Now did the Italians ever operate one? Heres where i am on the Jugger,

I had an idea with the seat belts as well. They come as a decal which looks fairly rubbish when ive tried it before, so i thought id stick them to a piece of lead sheet and when that dries, ill cut it out and see what thats like,

Nice Jug Guy!  Gloss black?  Love the radial wiring!  Currently digging through the stash gonna being posting some In progress pics later.  A multiengined preferably 4 engined German Aircraft?  Heck why didn't you just ask us to dig up your leprichan pot o gold while you were at it ? LOL!  Crazy fellow! I swear......  We need one of those kiddie leashes to put on him!

That's funny!!!

Good idea about the belts. You should paint the foil first if it isn't already. So what is the scoop-dee-doo on the multi- build? Can we start? I just finished one model, and I'm working on finishing the next by Wednesday to keep you honest. Will there be homework? Do we have to eat brats and drink beer? Aaron has already volunteered for that duty! Open the windows!

OK,OK I am going to build 2 in order to get the 6 pack prize. A Junkers G-24 float plane in Finnish airline "Aero O.Y." colors, and a Junkers Ju.52 civilian jobby that was the Olympic Torch transport in 1936.

The 1/72 RoG G-24 is a rebox of a 1960's kit from VEB Plasticart of East Germany. The kit decals for the Aero O.Y. seem to match the only photos I can find, or references to, the real deal. it's a real beauty.

The 1/72 RoG Ju-52 will have AM decals from Phantasy Printshop. I'll post piccies soon.

I'm still waiting for the gits at the LHS to get me the 1/72 Italeri SM.81. They've got the Supermodel one, but I'm holding out for the new moldings.

Great choice on the 234C sarge. You didnt think you could fox me on its name did you? If i HAD have got it wrong, i would only have blamed it on our noticeable absentee.

Many moons ago I had plans for converting I think a Airfix kit (Grief maybe ?) into a Junkers 287 . I have long misplace the magazine build up nor can I remember anything about it.  Heck I have not even seen a Vacu kit of that monster in ages.. Anyone know of any ?

Now that would be a cool build for this subgroup...

So my dilema is I really want to finish off some shelf queens before tackling any more new builds.  The shelf queen list includes a pair of Ar 234's one is a B the other is a C with the Julia parasite fighter.  On the other hand, I really want to do the Condor.  Or... Since both Italian and German heavies are allowed I'm thinking maybe we need to include the other axis power as well and since I have the 4 engined Rita G8N1...  Mischief [:-,]

Man that sounds like some really ambitious projects! An Olympic pre-war Ju-52, A Rita? and a kit bashing converson of a 287 jet heavy bomber? !  Jeeze!  That one had like what 6 jets?

Oh yeah and what Guy is doing.... what was it again?  Odd I can't seem to recall now. Blush [:I]Laugh [(-D]

Well there she is in the box earlier today.

Put a few hours into her and  got pretty far. Lotsa sanding but nothing to gosh awful extreme.

Carving me out a pilot as well. Added a lot to the Pit cuz it can really be seen with that bubble nose.

Hopefully will get her prepped and painted tomorrow. Who's idea was this again? Confused [%-)]

Where is Soul Crusher!? He had better not be back in the hospital again I am hoping! Sigh [sigh]

Dave, im gutted about not being able to compete in your GB. Work sucks at the mo. Theyre calling for OT all the time. My 2 day, day off now has me doing a late today. Worse still, its a straight through till 00.46. Bummer. As for your choices, man, dont you finish anything LOL. Soon as you know whats going on the bench, give a yell. Good man.

Lord Moustachio, i did a quick search and this guy has a list of almost all of the companys doing the conversion. He lists loads of conversions for most models as well. Very cool beans,

http://www.luft46.com/modelist.html

Your Aaronliness, if you check back youll see im doing the 'NEW' Junkers JU-290, with 4, count em 4!! engines. Also, do you realise that the weeekend madness is over? You didnt finish that beast in 2 days did you? Tell me you didnt? And whittled a pilot from chicken bone and goose fat?

Did somebody say something?  I thought I heard a wee voice from beyond? Blush [:I]Shock [:O]Wink [;)] The real Guy and not this cloned copy would have built something in 10 minutes and painted it in 5 over at the weekend GB!  Now a 1/72 4 engined jobber?  As much time as he has spent talking about it , the real Guy woulda been done and moved on to something larger!

Yes I am afraid that Guy has been abducted by aliens and replaced by an imposter!  Heck this one is even working overtime?  I'm not fooled you dern aliens! Alien [alien]

I wish Guy would post some in progress pics as he is ACE and I wish I were at least distantly related!

I have the 4 engined Rita G8N1...  Mischief [:-,]

Ain't seen him over at the FAA page lately either Guy!  and after I left him such a sweet B-day message there as well!

A Rita? Cool is it the Hasegawa version?  I think it was all in the same release set as Bondo's Mauvis and there was an Emily also!  Man I would love to see all those in 1/48!

Don't make them and you know who is at fault!?! Wink [;)]

I wanted to get that 234-c together Guy but the pic I posted is the aftermath of much MUCH seam sanding. That and I lost my premium painting weather. Cooled off and got wet outside. Even the primer is taking a good while to dry. I'll get it though! Thumbs Up [tup] tHEN HAVE TO TACKLE SOMETHING A LITTLE MORE INVOLVED AS THESE BUILDS MAKE THIS ONE LOOK KINDA WEAK!

I know ive been a little absent but i am trying to get stuff done. Ive been roped into a 9th AF build for my model clubs monthly meeting. Its almost done and then i assure you ill be back here with avengence. The dern thing is NMF with fancy yelow nose and art and its got part invasion stripes round its belly.

Did you leave me a Birthday message? That was agaes ago. In June! You mean i havent been back since then. As well as having the Swordy i put on hold. Geez, im a terrible forum goer. Forgive me industrious one.

I also have a killer sore throat! Does that give me any lee way?

P.s, and im off to work at 6, booo.

Eh... someone being a little sassy... or was that saucy?  Maybe he's just on the sauce!  Guy, I think Sarge was referring to the birthday wish he left for me.  Announcing to everyone that I was 64 instead of my actual 23!  Angel [angel]  It's his dislexiaX2 acting up again. Wink [;)]

The Rita is the recent re-release by Hasegawa.  Typical old kit with new decals, think you had a similar experience with a 1/32 jet engined kit recently.  Promises to be a challenging build but it's the only option out there.

Guy, I am going to finish up my Ar 234C first and then move on to the Rita at a later date.  But first I need to finish up my disasterous weekend GB  and the FAA build which I am scratchbuilding from the molded lump in the box.
