Well  you fellows know what they say about if the shoe fits right? Laugh [(-D]

Got a good ol fashined Tamiya tape masking job on her! Some complex curves and shapes on this bubble nose.

Then the bottom coat paited with the airbrush and sealed wth a latex flat coat. I used an Old bottle of RLM 76 Floquil paint. Covers well looks good but smells awful. Good thing it is cool enough to vent it all out the windows!

Gotta go to an art show. I am such a cultural icon you know? Letting it dry real good and then will give it a Top Coat of Floquil Brown Violet followed with the splinter of the light green late war color RLM 80-something.

See ya alls later!  Have fun at work Guy!  Beep the horn for me!

That's because you are trying too hard! My impression of the things is that they were painted on by hand the first week of June. They're a foot wide which is 1/4" tape. Go for it buddy. And I really wish I was your son because even though I'm older than you, you're aces!

What no post for 8 hours?  Ack!  This won't due. I went to the Art exibit and kept busy all day but in between I was able to get the base colors down and finish the splinter camo on the 234!   Using the paint matches for the actual colors really gives a cool appearance. I am starting to like these late war Lufty camo schemes!

Used the Tamiya tape as I really thinned the mix to stretch what I had left color wise and didn't want it to seep under. Got the usual great results from it! Thumbs Up [tup]

I like the contrast of the light green over brown violet. Really stands out!  Future will dry tonight and decals tomorrow. Hope to get it done shortly.

That being said would anyone like to see the Hi-tech MPM 1/48 scale Greif built up?  Might make a good next project to compete with all this hoidy toidy builds I have seen offered? Bow [bow]

Hey all, Just got up. I hate lates.

Great sentiments Sarge. I too consider all of you my friends. Good ones at that. Come on Micheal, make an appearance so we dont have to fret. I do hope he hasnt been eating any of those dern meatball sandwiches.

Im still sloggin on with this blimin P-47. Isnt it strange that when your building something for any other reason than your choice, the build drags. Im using Barracuda decals for this beast and the stars and bars on the fuse have wrinkled like heck. Copious ammounts of Sol have had little effect. Dont know what to do next really. As for the invasion stripes, i understand what your saying Bondo about them being hand painted on. Ive seen them looking rough as hell, yet ive also seen them look nigh on perfect. Spose it depended on who did them and wether they were touched up later on. This plane im doing only has them on the fuselage, and the lower half only.

I was woken today by a surveyer coming round to measure up the house. We are supposedly moving, and maybe before Chrimbo. How frightening is that. Also SWMBO wants me to re-kitchen the place before we move. I forsee a distinct lack of modelling for me in the near future. At least theres a room in the house with my name on it for a man cave. In the event of my absence for any period of time, i leave his Aaronliness in charge.

My pc has started to kick up loads of error messages on boot up as well....oh and i have a cold.

Woe is me.

What? Computer is acting up? You gotta remodel to move but get your own space?  and you have a cold? Well  It seems you always gotta cold! All that public service you do I suppose!  Sounds like the worst of your woes is your T-bolt decals!  Everything else is gravy  there buddy!  Woe is you! Oh woe is you!  Have a cuppa and go do yer duties!

Decals on Future coat 3.47 drying! Going for the Frankinstyle finish!

Oh woe is you!  Now get that ... what was it your building again? Finished or started you nutter butter! Laugh [(-D]

Besides remember what happened during your last leave?

Now put on yer cap and get to finding Soul Crusher!

Meand the kido's are checking out yer new place! Your swimbo is right!  he Kithen needs redone!

Now, where is Mike?  Hope all is well Mike, we're thinking of you.

Guy, best of luck in your move and on your reno's.  A little bit of pain will pay off in the end with your very own cave and a happy SWMBO.

Heres a what happened next scenario. 1000 Ninja points to anyone who can guess what happened next,

This person I know Whistling [:-^], A gorgeous hunk of an adonis. Loved and worshipped by all was having problems with his decals. They wernt laying down properly so he used his square green topped bottle of Mr Mark Softener to settle them down. After about 3 sloshings of the stuff the decals still wouldnt settle down. He got pissed off and decided to go to work on the busses..err.. or whatever job he had. Did i mention that he was also glueing some stuff with his Square green topped bottle of Tamiya extra thin as well?...Have you guessed where this is going? Just as he was shutting the lights off at his bench when he thought 'Ill give it one last application'...He reached for his Square green topped bottle................

Thanks Dave!  BTW got your favorite T-shirt on underneath! It matched!

Guy I have done that as well. Sometimes even got a good result on a stubborn decal!  So how did yours turn out? It helps if you do it on purpose! More controlled.

Did I say controlled? Time for your collar again Guy!

Guy - I just read a post not long ago about someone using liquid cement to tame a decal. Maybe yours will be unharmed..  I am hoping for you Smile [:)]

Aaron -  You must be halfway done with that Grief by now Whistling [:-^]

Dave - Here you go

Photobucket

I had a mishap myself while removing the belly band mask Black Eye [B)] I could not find my blunt tweezers for the mess on my bench. I grabbed the point ones I stick into myself on a regular basis.. Well I scratched the band No markings to cover it either.  Not sure if I should touch it up, strip it or leave it...

Ooohhh... I'm missing everything!

SC - Where are ya? Hope you're okay!

Guy - The jug... OH NO! Like Aaron, I've used liquid cement on a stubborn decal but never slathered it on there. Hopefully it didn't get to the plastic. I'm rootin' for ya!

Aaron - That AR234 is looking mighty sharp! I've got the Hasegawa 1/48 AR234c but I don't think I'm going to build it after seeing how nice yours looks. Thumbs Up [tup] Back when that MPM He177 came out, I had to have it. Preorder, pay out the nose, gimme, gimme, gimme! It's not even the Hi Tech... no missiles! Well, it still sits upstairs, untouched. You build that monster so I can at least have some satisfaction in seeing one get done.

Sean - She's looking great... nice smooth paint finish so far. What scale is that kit? Dave has the right idea... touch up the white and call it done. Can't wait to see her finished!

Did I leave anyone or anything out? Been really busy with winter prep around the homestead but trying to pop on. Amazingly enough, I'm still building the never ending helicopter. Big Smile [:D]

Now I gotta dig out  that Greif!

Aaron, what a beauty. You did the old girl proud. What meds are you on at the mo cos your on fire man. Didnt you only start that thing yesty?

Sean, the macchi is looking spunky, my friend. What camo are you going for. Smoke rings? or blobs? (V, technical, me)

As for old jugga lugs. Unfortunately i splurged a fair bit of glue on her and it glubbed down to the painted invasion stripes. Ill post a pic but im going to try to salvage the thing. Sorry Dave, but it didnt do a Kamikaze into the wall, though i was sorely tempted.

I am using after market 'Barracuda' decals for this build and they suck, BIG TIME. Theyre too hard and dont conform or shrink very much. But ah well. Heres the dissaster pic,

I gave that a real light sanding with a polishing board (For nails) and then. For the 1st time with this kit it seams, i was lucky and used another similar decal to go right over the top of the old one. I had to touch up the black a bit, but id say it came out ok,

Gotta get this thing finished,

I would say that looks fine Guy!!!! I was going to suggest masking and painting the offending areas, which in the next pic i thought you had done!!!! You put another decal over it and I thought it was paint. Goes to show it is a good save!!! WELL DONE!!Thumbs Up [tup]

Aaron - Fantastico on the Arado. The pilot looks right at home .. What is the reason for three cigars with a red band and one with a silver ?  I have always liked hobbycraft kits myself..

Guy - Great save on the decal, next time pay more attention to your 1/48 model and not the scantily clothed 1/1 model parading around your house. Wink [;)]

The Macchi will be getting smoke rings.

Anyone hear from SC yet  Sigh [sigh]
